The Poison: Interest Check

You live in New York City; the current New York, or New New York (written as N2Y). The year is 2053, and though we haven't discovered alien life or cured all diseases, we have made a few technical advances. But with the constantly declining economy, things have become a little... Destructive.

You've got two options. You're either rich, with enough money to live successfully.
Or you're poor, living in the slums where life is wild, untamed, and ravishing.

You live in sin...

There is something that cures your desperate search for hope when you're in these slums though. There is something that makes you happy, and feel in control. It was originally made as a steroid-like enhancement. At first it took on a viral form. In every pill was a dose of the virus, and you took it until it controlled you. Made you strong.

It was first given to the sick, and slipped out of pharmaceuticals hands once or twice, but was not a problem. Then, they realized that the pill was ineffective. The drug once called Elixir (originally Elixir Vitae), was now called Poison. While they didn't want people's newfound strength and health to go to their heads, they realized that the Elixir was going straight to it. When they fully evolved with the Elixir, they became rebellious. Government said it clouded their vision, while many others feel it released them from the veils of society.

Poison is now a black market drug that everyone wants. It makes you strong, it makes you heal in almost half the time of normal people. It makes you quick on your feet, fast to react, and happy. It's a drug, like acid almost. And it's also illegal.

Government doesn't want to dirty their hands cleaning up the slums now though. It's too late. As long as the district boundaries stay up and no poor fool passes into the rich side, the government does not intervene. You get in a gun fight in the slums, the cops aren't coming to save your ass. It's every man for himself...

But Poison grows more popular. Suddenly, raising from the ashes of broken society is forming an unknown (even amongst themselves) band of perfect misfits, all evolved on Poison without bearing the horrible side-effect of death. Those who adapted and are stronger, faster, and weapon-like in body. Now that they can see clearly, they can fight.

We can fight.




So this is basically a futuristic rp about a group of people in the Poor District (District 4,5) who are all evolved on the drug Poison. Though most people don't understand it truly, those who survive the now twisted drug's process become strong, and able to rebel with that power. They are more keen in senses, and more flexible, agile, and fast. While this will start out just fleshing out the lives of these wild, sinful people, it will later evolve into a story of breaking from the District and avenging all the years of terror and racism against those not as well off.

I want this to be gritty, rough, violent, vulgar, and down right vicious (all the while obeying site rules!).

Anyone interested before I post up a character sheet?
