Nice post, quakernuts! I like how you're developing Jake's more serious side in addition to the outward, joking layer of his personality. I want to wait until the others get in their posts, and I'll respond to Jake's inquiry (and possible compliment) in my next post.

I think we all enjoy our characters. I know I am looking forward to many things that I am going to do with James/Owen. Like let the group know about part of his back story. That will be fun times. I do plan on getting a post up but if it doesn't happen today it will have to wait until Sunday or Monday. I have already made plans that will not allow me internet for most of the weekend. Sorry to slow you guys down like this. I will get that post up as soon as I can.

No worries, Sunwolf. I have a feeling that the school year tends to slow down the overall pace of RPs, but that doesn't mean the writers are any less interested. As it turns out, I've also got plans this weekend that will mean no internet until later on Sunday (organization retreat - what fun!). I'll be back to lurk then, and hopefully read some new posts! ^_^

Hey, sorry for the inactivity lately. I'm still invested in the RP. I've just been swamped with college work and exec board responsibilities for two organizations. I'm also going out of town this weekend, so I'm trying to get ahead on my work before then. I'll try to post as soon as possible.

Kinda ripped the stitches on my writer's block. It's probably terrible but at least I am caught up now. Then again my guy is supposed to keep a low profile for a while so he isn't doing much but what he is told for right now. Can't wait until the Owen/James back story starts to get spilled to the other characters. Then it will get more fun.

Yes. But if she learned the ability in her dream doesn't that imply that sooner or later it's going to be part of her permanent abilities? I was just wondering if she would see his low amount of life left and then say something to someone which would make him talk a bit more about his reasons for joining up with the group. I am not saying we have to do this but it would be good for my character's development of back story. Plus everyone knows he has an alternative motive for joining their group and doesn't trust him for it. And if we do have this happen we don't have to do it right away. Was just throwing it out there. I don't know if I am making sense or not because I am tired and might not be typing / thinking right.

Actually, that's a great idea. I bet we can come up with something.

I can also see some interesting character development for Eri taking place if/when Raewyn learns to read people's minds. I know Eri won't like having her privacy being invaded, but it'll probably force her to be more honest with herself as she learns to trust the people in the group. (DIsclaimer: This may make absolutely no sense because I'm nearly delirious from sleepiness...)

@Loki: That last post was FREAKING SWEET!!! I'm quite pumped about this next part of the story and the fact that we all get new abilities. If you approve, I'd like for Eri's ability to be a kind of wind manipulation. I know Marinik already does this to some extent, but I think it will mesh well with Eri's summoning abilities, since people tend to associated birds with the air. Once the ability is honed, I'm visualizing her being able to concentrate wind around her sword and sending it shockwaves if she wants, as well as supporting Arashi in battle with tailwinds or extra wind with his blade attack. I think it would make for a pretty epic clash next time the group faces Marinik: wind User vs. wind-affiliated Summoner :-D

As of now, I'm thinking she won't be able to control it except on a very instinctive level (ie. A tree starts to fall on them, and she panics and cuts it with wind from her sword...or something like that...). It would be pretty easy to say where the ability came from, since air is all around them and I'm guessing Essence is in the air just like everything else? In any case, if this doesn't work, I can try to come up with a different ability.

@Digital Muse: In keeping with Tsume's request in the last post, would it be okay if I controlled Raewyn just enough to get her on Arashi's back and into the air? I don't want to god-mode or do anything like that without your permission. After that, you would be more than welcome to control him in terms of flying and carrying on a conversation. I'll leave it open so Arashi opens up a telepathic link with Raewyn so he can reassure her that she'll be safe, but then you can take the conversation anywhere you want based on how I've developed him thus far.
