Contest Rules and Information

Official FOG contests can only be held by the staff, but member-run contests are always welcome. (Only official contests can award the winner with a badge to be displayed in the winner's signature.) If you would like to hold your own contest, please review the following information.

• When starting a contest, include all the vital information on the contest itself in your first post, including the dates the contest starts and ends and the specifics of what contestants need to know in order to enter, which includes the rules.
  
  
• The judge(s) cannot participate in the contest. The contest holder is typically one of the judges. There is no required amount of judges. All judges are expected to judge unbiasedly and fairly.
  
  
• Though favored, prizes are not required. Something as simple as 'bragging rights' could qualify as a prize to the winner.
  
  
• Do not volunteer people to be a part of your contests in any way without first getting their permission.
  
  
• You may not create more than one contest at a time.
