Roleplay Delivered Crain Style

Post by Crain_S on Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:40 pm

OK, I have been reading other introductions to get an idea of what to put here, and I decided that trying to be overly clever would just make me look like a schmuck, so I am gonna be all to the point.

Hello, I am Crain, and I am 26 years old. I am a homosesual and I live with my husband of almost a year (up yours, Prop 8!) in sunny California.

I have been on line role playing for just about eight years, starting in the Yahoo! chat rooms (RIP) and then moving on to some private forums. When the forum withered and died, I was left RP-less, and my heart, she was sad.

I tried writing on my own, unable to find a decent forum or public outlet, until just recently when i discovered I was suffering from creative back log. I jumped on Gateway and started with several RP's and I breathed easy. I missed it. However, as it is so public, there are a lot of children on there with their anime and one liners and I wanted to pull my eyes out.

I think I can be more tolerant and even enjoy the kiddie stuff when I have better RP to offset it.

When I RP, I love magic. Spells, superpowers, special abilities, whatever, I eat it up. I prefer the medieval time-frame, but I have done and enjoyed modern and futuristic RP as well. I also have a thing about being evil; I can only portray evil if I am playing a female. Freud would probably have something to say about that, but there it is.

My favorite characters for medieval RP are Locklyn Cromwell, a water sorcerer (I LOVE KATARA), Nexa Mythril, an energy sorceress, and Caldis Ixun, an earth bender (kinda).

Modern and futuristic RP characters are custom made for the RP. You can't really create a living character until you know what their life will be like.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from people and role playing with them.

All the best,

Crain

P.S. If anyone has tips or hints for creating a kick-ass signature and avatar, please let me know. I have seen all of yours, and I want to be up to par.

Hey dude, welcome aboard. I don't know a thing about the avatar/signature thing, I just muddle through.

Hope you find your way around to some of our RP's and stick with us. Wink

Hey there, Crain, pleasure to meet you!

Welcome to FOG, welcome back to getting into the swing of RPing, and other such pleasantries, blessings, greetings and formalities. Wave I'm always excited finding others who were once in the old RP chat rooms, (although I was with msn, back when it was free... *Sigh*) ahh, the good old days, before the forums began to grow like mushrooms after a spring rain...

I hope you enjoy our little corner of cyber-space; if you've any questions, you're more than welcome to ask myself, or any of the other members of management, we'd be pleased to assist! As for the signatures; you're always able to request fetting one done. Some of our members have quite a tallent for them, (I myself lack it entirely, however my sigs have been made by Weiss, and the one before from Fate) I'm sure if you ask, they may be able to accomodate you. Hi, Crain!

Go you and your husband! cheers Go you too for being so open. Thumbs Up I actually was good friends with a gay man (though he was in his thirties) who was originally from California. (I worked with him in the lumber department of a hardware store haha.) That was a random and uninteresting tidbit of information from me, lol.

Katara, as in Avatar? Very Happy

You sound like you have some great tastes! I look forward to getting to know you a bit better, and I hope that you find what you're looking for here while enjoying yourself!

Oh, and if you spot a signature or avatar that you really love that someone has, you could always ask them who made it (or if they, themselves, made it) and maybe that person would be kind enough to make you some as well. ^_^

Hi, welcome, I love you already. You're definitely interesting, and I love unique and creative people. I also love fun people- and California people radiate fun. Lol.

Anyways, I use to be on Gateway, and it did go downhill very fast once ten and twelve year olds flooded the site with one-liners and mock-anime roleplays EVERYWHERE. It's no fun to do a romance roleplay when your in love on page one. Hahaha. It's also no fun to do a romance roleplay and fall in love on page one when each post is one fragmented or run-on sentence.

Anyways: I can't wait to see you on the forums! I'm always around, and in a lot of roleplays lol. Also, if you're into one on ones, well you should contact me. I might be interested in something magically medieval, since that seems to be my current flavor of the month.

OH!

And welcome to FOG. heart

Welcome to FOG, Crain, and it's wonderful to have you here. Wave With the start of school (meaning college too, of course! Very Happy), it seems things have slowed down a little bit for the RPs, but maybe an infusion of some new blood is exactly what's needed.

I feel so welcome! Thank you all so much! I still have a lot of reading and scrolling to do before I can get started, but I will definitely take the advice you guys have given me.

And Eternity, i love you too! I will be getting in touch with you about that one-on-one...eventually...

Also, i do mean Katara from the Avatar show. The hubby and I argue over which is better; Earth or Water. Water, no contest, I say.

I have seen a bitchin Katara signature and avatar on this site, and I loved them.

Welcome to the FOG, Crain! cheers
Have a look around the role-play sections; there's lots here to keep you busy. Wink

As for avatar / signature setups, there are several of us here who wouldn't mind at all making one for you. Thumbs Up

In fact, if you'd like, you could make a request in here. I'm sure there'd be at least one person willing to rise to the challenge (myself included).

I love this place already! I would love a signature and/or avatar made by one of my new friends. I'm not picky, it just has to be awesome. I like green and magic, if that helps. Oh, and elephants. I'm so excited!

He says green and magic and elephants. For some reason that reminds me of a cute version of Parcheesi that had little elephants you could use as board pieces, and it was SO CUTE.

( is totally off topic )

Yeps. I use to play with it to until I think my gramma's chihuahua ate one of the tiger pieces, half of an elephant piece, and two of the camels. He crapped a middle-eastern circus the next day.

The one I played belonged to my housemate. I miss him so. He moved to Utah with his wife and they had a baby.

Babies = cute ticket to the home for mentally deranged citizens

Maybe it's me, but everyone I know who's ever been a ''wild-child'' has had some awful horrible wretched bitchin' babies. LOLZ

Don't I sound so wonderful? *snickers*

EDIT:

That is also the reason why I am currently working on becoming the crazy cat lady. SO FAR I HAVE SIX CATS and four of them sleep with me in my twin sized bed. It's like spooning with Furbies <3

I was a wonderfully serene baby. Slept all night (and most of the day) and was a fat little cherub. If I had kids, they would be...like...child gold.

Cause I would sell their needy asses on the black market.

Evil women FTW!

(Not all that into women myself...doesn't bother me until I start doing self examination XD)

-gives hugs and cookies-

As for the green magic elephants...I mean, green and magic and elephants...I could have a go at your signature if you'd like, but I'm not quite as good as Sir Weiss-a-lot!

Shades of gray is now forgiven. *cookie nibbles*

Also, I was looking at some more avatars/signatures and I would totally not mind a set that was profound. One avatar had a picture of an orange sky and a couple holding hands with the quote "let it burn." Call me weird, but it gave me chills (the good kind). It was just so perfect. You guys are all so talented, i know I will love anything anyone comes up with.
