I just had to stop in to say that your portraits just keep getting better and better Kalon! Bird of Hermes' looks wicked cool, and Sighlent's is absolutely gorgeous. Eternity's edit was amazing as well. I really liked how you made her appear more mature the second time around.

I can't wait to see Elric's and... Ryona's? This should be interesting!

Psst... Elric told me the other day that he would love some cute little kitty ears on his portrait. He was just too scared to ask.

I would like you to make an image of my dungeons and dragons character. She looks like me, her eyes may be a little bit redder because she is suffering from lycanthropy. Long brown hair, small stature, light olive skin. She has a raven familiar, and is a human sorceress wearing no armor. I imagined purplish robes or something to that effect. She has a silver tipped spear but the weapon is not necessary if it is too difficult to do.

Do you need any more info?

What type of robes are you thinking? Elegant or elaborate?
Also, are there any other pictures of this character? That would help a lot, giving me ideas.

There are no pictures of her, just pictures of me. I figure the robes would be simple, perhaps multilayered. Nothing to fancy, she prances about a dungeon all the time and needs to be able to use a spear.

I forgot to mention she has two necklaces! A krenshar claw on string and a necklace of fireballs, which can be interpreted any way you would like.

Edit: I was playing around with my gaia avatar and you may want to base the clothing off of that, if you have no other inspiration.

So... After some long thought and consideration, I've decided that I want one of these portraits done. You don't have to speed into it because I likely won't be using it for an avatar set-up, at least not right away.

If others post requests after me, you can go ahead and get to theirs before mine. I also don't mind waiting a long time for it, so if you have other things to do in your life, I don't want you to feel stressed about this little thing.

Anyway, for specifics, I want the portrait to be of a female who resembles me. After all, if/when I do use this for a set-up portrait, I want it to represent me in all of my vanity. ^^_^^

I intend to post some new pictures in the near future, so perhaps some of those may help with the inspiration. If you don't like one of the new ones that are going to come, there are a surplus of images depicting me in other lights, so you can just reference those.

Try to keep the colouring the same ((such as very light yellows to colour the hair and colours that would indicate a dark blond/light brown colour for the eyebrows)). Also keep in mind that the length of my hair has reached the base of my back.

Anyway, as for colours, I am partial to combination of blues and silver, greens and blues, blues and greens and purples, and earth tones. I don't mean to have all of those colours together. I mean that the commas separate each combination that appeals to me. I'm not very fond of yellows or oranges, and gold isn't very appealing to me, either.

I don't want there to be armor in the portrait. Just a regular outfit would be fine. As far as the degree of elegance, I'm torn between three alternatives.

We could either base this portrait off my elf ensemble with the pointed ears and the finery, we could have it based more off my desire to become a librarian and my normal appearance with a book and my glasses, or we could do a combination of the two ((with the glasses, a book, the pointed ears, and a bit more finery like a high class elven librarian)).

Regardless, I still want the portrait to have a more old-school fantasy appeal rather than a modern one. If you need any other details, please, let me know.

We should seriously make a large-scale FOG role-play in which all of us use these avatars as our characters. That would be pretty interesting

Do you mean large-scale as in Caligo large, or do you mean large scale as in a very detailed world that has a lot of characters interacting all contained in one thread? I kind of like the latter idea better because it's less of a damper on my time, but regardless, that's really cool.

I meant a very detailed world (as far as we all care to detail it) contained in one thread. It may or may not end up expanding like Caligo into different role-plays, but my real idea was just for one massive role-play for each of us to use our Kalon-created avatars.

Honestly, I think I could really love that. However, creating a world like that would take a lot of time, but that's just as well because creating the portraits takes a great deal of time. The cool thing is that so many of the portraits are so diverse that all of the characters would be incredibly diverse. Oh, I'm all excited now. You should make an interest thread. ^^_^^

Honestly? Any Fantasy setting would work since most are in an armor or Elvish in feeling.

Well, the thing is that this thread shouldn't be cluttered with talk that doesn't pertain to the creation of Kalon's portraits, you know? An interest check would probably garner more actual role play interest. It would probably also help if PM's with the link to the interest check were delivered to everyone who received a portrait on this site.

Kalon, in the probably-not-so-near future, if you have any questions at all regarding the portrait you're making for me, feel free to ask me.

For the most part, I really like to give much creative freedom to whomever is doing the creating, so if you don't like an idea or if you have other ideas, feel free to discuss it with me. ^^_^^

The only problem with an RP like that is that if it expanded every Tom, Dick, and Grognak would be pestering Kalon for avatars
