Username Change Now Only Granted By Admins

Weiss just brought up a good point that I had never considered before: Because we keep a list of everyone that has been warned in the past year (either officially or 'verbally'/unofficially), allowing members to change their usernames on their own would make it very difficult to keep track of who has been warned. For instance, say a not-so-well-known member John Doe got warned once in the past year, but he decides he wants to change his username to Mr. Anderson. We may not remember who John Doe is and therefore not associate him with Mr. Anderson. In other words, we need to know who is who.

So, from now on, if you wish to change your username, you won't be able to do it yourself. You still can change it whenever you like though; you just need to PM an Admin and let them know what you want it changed to.

This is a really good idea. Of course, I don't plan on changing my name anytime soon. I hope this keeps repeat offenders from coming back under a different name.

It was possible to change your username yourself? O: News to me, so you never had to worry about my repeat-offending. Good save Weiss, and Fate and whoever else is associated with the change.

I thought it was a bad idea with which to begin to have people changing their names on their own, but not for the reason Weiss so wisely brought to light. It was more for my own sanity and keeping track of people. ^^_^^;;

Weiss has proven himself to be a worthy moderator. Good choice on whoever ultimately decided on adding him to your ranks. ^^_^^

I've never personally used the word "dirigible," so that's why I didn't recognize it in your name, Diodri. I do like the idea of using real words in your name though. Same for Nite's new username, Axiom Awaits. I absolutely love it and the meaning behind it, despite not having originally ever heard the word "axiom."
