Pokearth

After reading all that Pokemon Special, needless to say, I felt a need to do a pokemon Rp. Team Rocket's up to no good again... having absorbed all the henchman of various "teams" from all over the Pokearth, and Pokedex Holders have been found again to take up the mantle that their fore-bearers have done.

There's a new generation in town, and it's full of people that are ready to fight. They each have their own special skills, quirks and pokemon, that will allow them to get the job done and stop the evil Team Rocket. On the way, they'll have fun, grow as people, and maybe even take down some gym leaders on the way.

What I want:
-People (of course)
-Limited Starter Pokemon
-Three pokemon to start (max)
-Cleverness
-Kanto/Johto Realm (but may allow for Hoenn and Sinnoh later)
-Comments, most of all!

What I don't want:
-God moding
-Legendary, uber rare pokemon
-Replicas of canon people
-Too many similar pokemon

What I'm thinking about "gameplay":
-Another Pc can Rp a gym leader if need be, taking turns and such.
-Same situations for Team Rocket people
-Fair play
-Common sense


First of all, I just want to know if people are even interested. Pokemon special has been making me hunger for this :/

I, for one, love Pokemon and think a Pokemon rp would be great fun. ^_^

May I ask if there's a reason why someone can't just play a Team Rocket member or a gym leader if they so wished? The writing style as well as the personality and such would be more consistent that way. Of course, it would be a problem if there were too many Rockets or GLs and not enough up and coming Trainers/Breeders/Rangers.

Well i Don't see a problem with a team rocket baddie really. But a gym leader is mainly immobile, to deal with gym crap, unless there's a legendary threat. And that'd be near the end. So a gym leader would be impractical.

And would you really want to be a grunt level team rocket that ends up losing to the protagonists? Well, a team rocket person wouldn't be horrible. But being one of the head honchos would. I wouldn't want anyone to be a giovanni, or archie, that's already too much power. Or even one of the "admins" or whatever they are called base on the groups, i wouldn't want that either. But if they developed alongside the pokedex holders, that wouldn't be horrible.

But of course, it means the ultimatum of no pokedex.


And Kanto and Johto are just most practical, as they connect, and have the huge boat that takes people to islands near the Hoenn region and could plausibly go to sinnoh region (of course you could have pokemon from all four regions, I'm not that limiting).
