It's been a long time since I typed one of these up ><

Hey there,

I'm DarkGoddess, though on various sites people refer to me as DG or Dark. Feel free to call me any of them.

I don't think anyone here would know me, but that's kind of what I'm hoping for: a fresh start. My old habitat was recently shut down due to hacker issues, and though its RPs were rather juvenile, there were some really fun ones there. I'm hoping to find some here as well.

I like all sorts of rps, though magic is definitely a favorite of mine, whether through real-world use or through medieval life. I prefer werewolves to vampires, Coke to Pepsi, all types of music (right now I'm partial to Jersey Boys, but that could change anytime!) and Anne Rice to Twilight. Winter is my favorite season, and seeing as I live in Canada, I'm loving the weather right now (snow...lots of it!)

One more thing. I love to write. I'm hoping to find people here that share that passion

Other than that, I can't think of anything else. Feel free to ask questions, though. I'm pretty open ^^.

To think that anyone in this world could possibly prefer Coke over Pepsi... I'm appalled.

Aside from that, welcome to the site! If you've come looking for people who enjoy writing and basking in the glory of all that is Literature, you have reached your destination.

Based on your introduction and my astute powers of observation, I can see that you're a fairly talented writer. I look forward to watching your progress here on the site!

Oh, and you should feel special: you're the first person I've greeted in a very long time. It's a highly esteemed honor in some third-world countries that should not be taken for granted.

Gah, why is it so many people live in Canada or other places where they get lots of snow? And not the lame kind of snow where it is really heavy and essentially ice where a mere inch of it can cause branches to break everywhere, trees to fall, and the loss of power for around a week or more… I envy you people. ~chuckles~

Winter is my favorite season as well, but here where I live we haven’t even had too much rain yet unfortunately. And as previously stated, our snow isn’t a thing of joy.

Welcome, however. And hopefully you’ll find something of interest to you around here somewhere.

Spirit ~ You should move here ^^. There's a lot of snow, but if you don't mind shoveling out driveways, you should fit right in. (Of course, if you don't like shovelling, a snow-blower's always an option. :p )

Welcome to FoG! I am a big fan of winter was well. Fortunately I live in lower Michigan so I get lots of snow. I understand motivation issues. I have been wrestling with that myself. In fact I really should write more and was hoping this site would help with that. So far it has improved the amount of time spent writing. Unfortunately most of that writing is in the goof off section. Well it's called General Discussion but in my head I call it the goof off section.

Anyway if you like writing you should fit right in here. I hope to see you around here.

I don't really drink soda much, so I can't really understand the coke/pepsi feud weiss. Second gratuitous comment- I found I prefer pretty much anything to Twilight, and its genre.

Anyway, shameless plug for threads. I have a WoW starting in the interest checks, if your interested, and another that is a mix of magic, tech, and some good ole fashioned monster hunting. The intro story should be done today, but given my laziness and procrastination, don't hold me to it.

@Sunwolf: That's awesome! Are you getting a lot of snow this year? We got nearly two and a half feet of it last week, but then all the rain this past week made most of it melt. v.v

And for the record, GenCom posts are still written. I believe it counts. ;] I'm not a big user of General Discussions unless there's a heated debate in Theology or ethics. >< I could go on in those topics for hours.

@Kalaam: The biggest differences between Pepsi and Coca Cola are mostly that Pepsi is much....sweeter, I guess I'd call it. Pepsi is also more widely marketed in the Americas. I spent a great deal of childhood in Europe, where Coke is the only kind you'll find. I suppose it stuck.

I've never really been into WoW, but I'll definitely take a look at your RP.

I'm just curious because it's such an interestingly appealing image, but what exactly is your avatar supposed to depict?

I'm like you with a preference toward werewolves over vampires. There's just something so fascinating with the primal forces that swim through them. I love it. Besides, being able to shape shift into a predator is awesome.

I actually hate soda altogether, so I don't drink it. However, when I did drink it, I preferred Pepsi because Coca-Cola always made my teeth feel grainy and dry. Then again, they both reacted badly in my digestive system, so I'm just glad to have stopped drinking it altogether.

I hate winter... The cold, dry air works like magick to destroy my skin by making it dry and chapped: the perfect conditions for an eczema take-over. Autumn is actually my favorite season. It's lovely and the middle of it has perfect weather.

The only kind of snow I enjoy is the kind where the snowflakes are huge and clustery and heavy, but they still fall softly without plopping. It's gorgeous. However, once the snow settles and people start placing boot-prints into it and making it muddy with their dirty cars, it loses it's appeal.

I know how it feels to have motivational issues. For me, motivation to write comes and goes like clockwork. In all honesty, I haven't had those issues since joining FoG, and this is the longest I've ever lasted. It makes me feel good. I know not everyone feels the same way, but I know what worked for me.

My motivational issues come from joining too many things at one time. I've set a limit for myself that I don't want to break because if I join more than five games, my levels of desire for writing begin to wane with the demand to post. Maybe something like a limitation could be good for you, too, unless your lack of motivation stems from something else?
