Weissss.
Weiss is going through internet trouble at the moment and asked me to let you guys know of his absence, you know, if you hadn't noticed him missing already. He said he doesn't know when he will be back again, but he hopes it's soon. Oh, oh... and that he apologizes for this inconvenience!
Cheers ~

That's very thoughtful of him. And of you! ^^
Tell him thanks so much for the notification, and we eagerly await his return.

I anticipate our White Knight's return. I hope he doesn't have too much trouble with his internet.

Re: Weissss.
Thanks again for posting this, C.
Unfortunately, I'm not really back. I figured somebody might see that I was online and get curious, so this is just an update to say that I'm still as good as dead as far as internet is concerned. I was running errands out this way, so I decided to drop in and use my grandfather's internet. I can't afford to be driving out this far on a regular basis, though, since gas is expensive and I'm still in a financial hole.
Anyway, I apologize to anyone I've inconvenienced, and I hope I'll be able to return soon. For now, everyone behave so I don't have to come back and write a bunch of PMs and moderator log entries, okay?
See you all around, sooner or later.

Re: Weissss.
A few cracked pipes and I'm back again. Not permanently, mind you. The cold weather did some bad things to my grandfather's pipes, so I came out to help him fix them up. After about five hours of working on it, we've discovered that there's three times as much of a problem as we thought, so tomorrow - and possibly the day after - are looking very cold and very wet at the moment.
Given this situation, I have some recommendations for all the homeowners out there. First, if your water heater is somewhere other than in the main area of the house, be sure there's heat to keep the pipes from freezing. Second, when the temperatures drop to freezing, keep your water running as often as possible. It doesn't have to be a lot, but keep it dripping so that water is constantly circulating through the pipes. If the water doesn't stop moving, it won't have time to freeze. If it doesn't freeze, your pipes won't crack.
Those are two very simple ways to prevent hours of labor and a bit of cash wasted on CPVC pipe, glue, cutters, etc.
Oh, and always use colored glue. If you get the white (clear) glue, you're liable to forget to apply it after testing the fittings on the pipes.
All that said, I still don't know what's going to happen with the internet. It could still be any given moment when I have reliable access. With the heavy snow lately, I haven't had an ounce of work; zero luck on applications in the area... Anyway, you get the point. With taxes coming back, we may be able to catch up and reactivate our cable service, but I don't want to say for sure one way or the other.
We'll see what happens, I guess.

Re: Weissss.
My pipes froze a few weeks back. I was fortunate enough that none of the pipes burst, though it still wasn't fun going a week without running water in anything but the toilet. At least we had that. Anyways, glad to have you back, even if it is just for a few days that are mostly reserved for other things.

Yeah, so, it turns out that God has not completely forgotten me. Long story short, I'm back for a while, at least. Nothing more to see here. Move along.

-pulls up a chair and some popcorn-
What can I say? I'm pretty ignorant sometimes.
It's good to have you back Weiss, even if it may be somewhat temporary!
