Character Chat
I've found this to be a fun little exercise. While talking to others, the conversation is bumped up a notch by not only speaking for yourself, but for your characters as well!
It works just like a chat room, and I've always had fun with it. Your actions are anything in asterisks in your posts, your characters actions and speech are anything said after their names and a colon.
For example;
*kicks in Belle and Tyrone*
Belle: Oooowieee... Brother, I'm getting tired of this!
Tyrone: *sighs* I know, Belle, I know.
(Anything not intended for characters ears or interaction should be said in parentheses, as I have done here. This first use of my two main characters, Belle and Tyrone, will also be the first post. Any questions?)

Re: Character Chat
(Perhaps this should be done in a more role-playesque style with quotes and no asterisks.)

Re: Character Chat
(I intended the feel of it to be that it's more of an actual 'chat room' and giving the characters more a life like role, if that's understandable. Using a roleplay, whole-written style gives it, well, a roleplay feel, which isn't the goal. It's to use the characters in situations they would never particularly be in, and getting a better feel for their personalities, not to really improve writing skill.)
Re: Character Chat
(Oh. I see. I have a lot of characters though.)

Re: Character Chat
(It's your choice on which to use. Like I said, it's an exercise. If you like, you can use just one, or as many as you can. Belle and Tyrone aren't my only characters, either, just the ones I like using more often.)
Re: Character Chat
Umm...guys...we have a chat room in all actuality. This seems a bit...unnecessary.

Re: Character Chat
I realize there is a chat room. However, I realize that is also for the use of all members for quick contact with other members. I wanted to perhaps have something separated, so that the two would not collide.
However, if it is seen as unnecessary and/or unwanted by most, then I suppose it has no real place. I apologize, as I was simply wanting to share an exercise I've grown a bit fond of when it comes to character usage.

Re: Character Chat
Well, we've not got the chatroom specifically for quick RPs, but I can totally set that up for you guys if you'd want to do that. It's really simple and I'd be happy to do it for you if you really want to do all of this.
