Hello, everyone!

After lurking around for a while, I’ve finally plucked up the courage to make an introduction. I’m not really in favor of drawing attention to myself, but I didn’t want to be rude by slinking in without saying anything, and I suppose introducing myself would be the best start if I hope to establish some common ground with you all – so! [Deep breath.] Here I am.

I’ve been roleplaying for a couple of years now, though my activity ebbs and flows with the amount of free time I have, as well as the comings and goings of my muse. And like my roleplaying, my place in the online roleplaying world has been somewhat unstable. I’ve migrated to several different forums since my days as a novice, but in each instance, I’ve been discouraged by one of two problems: a lack of quality, or a highly impersonal experience. So you can imagine my excitement when it comes to FOG, which seems to have both a care for quality and a supportive, tightly knit community!

Admittedly, I’m really nervous about plunging in, surrounded by such talent, and even now, I’m still questioning whether or not I can measure up to the standards here. But I will definitely do my very best!

Don't worry, as a newbie myself I know how daunting the standards here seem. But, everyone is super friendly here and very supportive. They're more than happy to offer up help and bits of adivce.

Poke around in the OOC boards for some fun and to get to know all of us FOG peoples wandering around in this swirling mist.

As far a rps go, try the Casual and One-on-One boards to start off; their expectations are a bit lower than the Advanced and a good place to get your works up to par.

Whatever happened to the good ol' days wherein we ate the newbies? Ah, how I miss the taste!!!

Anywho, be not alarmed. I only eat the man folk newbies. So you're safe enough dear Impulse! And welcome indeed to this lovely haven of the written word! We ask that you please keep your arms and legs inside of the cart at all times during the duration of your stay, and in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse, we must inform you that we will not be held accountable for anything. As in I swear it wasn't me who started the whole thing. XD

Let me first welcome you to FoG, Impulse! You have no reason at all too feel intimidated or worried in the slightest. Even if you don't feel up to par at the moment, this is the perfect opportunity for you to improve and raise the bar. We're all extremely eager to support each other as a community which means that if you have any concerns at all please make sure that you voice them.

So with that out of the way let me just say that I really hope you enjoy your stay with us and begin to feel more comfortable amongst the fog soon!

In truth, I happily welcome you to the forums. It's always wonderful to see new faces popping up in our community, especially when they belong to talented writers. Judging by the composition of your introduction, I would estimate that you have quite a lot of skill in the field of literature. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're capable of.

Worry not, though; the people of FOG aren't very judgmental. We are all here to improve and have fun amongst other like-minded individuals. Find your niche, pull up a chair and relax.

On an offtopic note…Is that you in your avatar and signature? If so, I’d just like to say that you look really amazing!

Shadow – You know, I’ll most likely be taking your advice and starting off with a Casual or One-on-One roleplay. The standards for Advanced roleplays do bring a bit of a flutter to my stomach. And I’m not sure how demanding Advanced roleplays generally are, but perhaps it’d be best if I begin my career on FOG in a place where I can go at my own pace for some time.

Oh, of course! To be honest, I was pretty relieved that my assumption was correct. I was second-guessing myself a little after posting, worrying that I’d made an empty compliment, since you do look like someone out of a fantasy movie in those pictures.

I don’t believe I’ve seen Ryona around yet, but please give her my compliments, as well! The set she made is very elegant, and it suits you nicely.

Loki, thank you for the welcome. My first weekend has been interesting...I haven't found a roleplay to jump into yet (there are a lot that have already started), but I'm keeping my eyes peeled! At any rate, FOG certainly seems to have what I'm looking for. ^^
