Hello everyone!

Hey there! I'm Bubs. ^^;
I'm not TOTALLY new to this place... I've had it on my favorites for a really long time now, but I've never really joined... I think I've been too scared!

I'm currently a Junior in high school, and I've been writing/role playing avidly since I was eleven years old. Whoooo for going on six and a half years! I've been hoping to put my writing to the test somewhere other than Gaia Online (which is were I, honestly, originate from) where one's writing isn't exactly taken seriously, but role play partners seem to think that they're not really role play partners, but just someone who's bored and is using you to sate their craving for a certain role play...

Anyways! I thought that, finally, it was time for me to venture outside of my comfort zone and meet some new people and explore a new writing community! So here I am, ready and willing to make new friends and maybe role play partners. :D

I know we have a number of other Gaia Online users around here, so I'm sure at least one or two of them will greet you at some point. I had a character myself at one point, but the writing on those forums was fairly disappointing, so I ultimately gave away all of my belongings to a friend and quit the site. I do miss my lovely avatar, though.

Anyway, you seem like an interesting person who's full of spirit, and that's exactly what we need around here! Lately we've been getting a number of younger users, and it's good to see some fresh blood to keep the old folks striving to improve and beat the curve.

My advice is to dive in, and I would suggest using the General Discussion forum as your first medium for meeting other users and getting to know your potential friends and roleplay partners. Beyond that, there's also the IRC chat room that you can access using the link in the navigation bar at the top of the page. I'm usually in there, and there are frequently a few other users chatting about, as well. My goal is to eventually have a very lively and active chat room where users can discuss their roleplay concepts or just talk about random things while getting to know one another in real-time.

I've found that a lot of the writing on Gaia is lacking, but there are really a few people on there that I have found to do fill the void. Unfortunately, none of them are committed partners, and I have been sadly left behind. ;-; Well, all except for one, who has stuck with me for the past few months.

Don't fret about not joining right away. I waited a few weeks before I joined though I lurked as a guest on the forums beforehand.

There's no reason to be afraid, either. We're a good bunch.

Venturing outside one's comfort zone is a wonderful way to develop skills to betters one's abilities. I'm sure you'll find this place to be beneficial to you in that way.

Well I haven't exactly 'lurked' quite yet... I think that's my next thing to do. I think I read the rules and etiquette and simply decided that this was a little more strict than what I was used to. But I hardly post where I come from anyways, aside from role playing, so I don't think that it will make much difference, and I think that was my deciding factor. FoG really seems like an interesting place.

But thank you for the assurance that I wont be judged and banished like I thought I would be!

I've been on Gaia, but I didn't originate there, and there are a few good role plays among the crappy ones. If you chose to come here, I'm sure you're already better than most of those on Gaia. A willingness to improve is a wonderful thing to have.

Lo and Behold! A blue Dino would start lurking around this captivating FoG. I pray that we don't get trampled along the way.

Come out, bring a lantern, don't be afraid to make friends! Hopefully, after a few days you'll be sharing a nice damp cave scribbling thoughts with other dwellers such as myself.

Welcome to FoG! Like Weiss said before we got a few people around here from Gaia (not me though) so I am sure you are going to get to know them soon through there greetings. Don't be afraid to lurk around. I did so for a week before posting my intro topic! Once you get used to where things are located you will be posting like a pro. Also if you came to improve this is the right site to do it in. I have been to a couple RP sites and this one is by far the best for skill improvement. Anyway welcome to FoG and I hope to see you around.

Welcome to FoG, Bubs! I see you've already settled in here nicely so there's no real need for me to ramble on about fitting niches and finding in but I will comment on the fact that you and I are both the same age which is wonderful! We're a little outnumbered at times, so I'm always happy to see a few younger members appear in the fog.

So in conclusion let me just say that I hope you continue to enjoy your stay with us and that your avatar/user image makes me smile whenever I see it.
