Psh. These minions are no match for our mighty CS score.

Round 1:
We roll a 0. ... We one shot him.

Round 2:
We roll an 8. We one shot him.

Well, that was fun.

Who's a bad ass? That's right. We are.

THE LIST OF BOATS SUNK
The Green Scepter (Book 2)
The Durenor (Book 2)
Whole Zombie fleet (Book 2)

And we make it back with three days to spare!

And, we one shot the boss.

That was... kinda epic, actually. I approve.

THE LIST OF DARKLORDS DEFEATED
Darklord Zagarna

Anyway, Lone Wolf has singlehandedly defeated the "undefeatable" enemy leader in a one on one combat that he didn't know he was fighting in. So, yeah, we totally sucker punched him.

I don't think the other Darklords will be so obliging...

Next Time on Lone Wolf:
THE CAVERNS OF KALTE
Were we track down that dirty little wizard.

So, do we need to pick new stuff? Cause we're totally tracking that little bastard down. He tried to fry us(and while we totally lightsabered it) it is the principle of the thing that we hunt him down and beat him with a fish.

Oh, right, this thing. Exams and projects can wait, I have a gamebook to read!

The Story So Far

The Kai were awesome.

They got sucker-punched.

We're the last one.

We have an awesome sword.

And we have a grudge to settle...

That dirty little wizard from book two ran off to the north pole. He set up an Artic base and hides from the justice of the Kai and Sommerland in addition to the wrath of the foul Darklords. It seems that he'd promised them our head upon a plate. Seeing as we are still un-decapitated, they are a little peeved with him. And these are the guys for whom assassination plots are hobbies.

BUT! We're going to get him first, because we're a badass like that.

____________
First things first, GOLD!

18 Crowns (thank the RNG)
We also get special winter boots, a tunic, a fur-lined cloak and mittens. In addition we get a nice
map of the frozen wastes of Kalte

So, we have some decisions to make, people.

We get a new Kai power, and promptly dub ourselves Kai Guardian! Woot! Go us!

The powers are

Mind Over Matter - Limited TK
Mindblast - Poke peoples brains for a nice +2 CS
Mindshield - Don't be poked in the brain
Tracking - ... It's tracking. We can follow tracks. A tracker are we.

And from the loot table, we get two picks from :

Sword
Short Sword
Padded Leather Waistcoat (Special Items). This adds 2 ENDURANCE points to your total
Spear
Mace
Warhammer
Axe
Potion of Laumspur (Backpack Items). This restores 4 ENDURANCE points to your total when swallowed after combat. There is only enough for one dose.
Quarterstaff
Meal
Broadsword

So, while I have a pretty good idea what the choice for the loot will be, I'm interested in seeing the choices for powers.

Oh, and now that we're done with the book, I get to share the hilarious secret that everyone whose mildly acquainted with Lone Wolf knows.

Book Two, while giving us a +10 spell turning sword of undead slaying, has a huge, gaping flaw.

If you go down the right fork here (as you did) and don't choose Animal Kinship (as you didn't), you lose the book. Seriously. You can't win. You missed the magic spear that lets you fight not-Ringwraiths and you can't get the secret passage that lets you skip the not-Ringwraiths.

As I said, Hilarious

I vote for Padded Leather Waistcoat and Potion of Laumspur.

I also want to choose tracking since I am uber awesome at skill picking (see Animal Kinship for my awesomeness).

Yeah, I concur with Hermes. All the other loot is kinda...pointless, what with us being super badass and hunting and all that.

We really don't have a very good track record for boat, do we?

Ok, first off, we have 30 days.

Second off, we have three guides. Irian, Fenor and Dyce. Say Hi, Lone Wolf.

And finally, we have two paths.

Short and hard (two hundred and thirty miles through Cloudmaker Mountains and over Viad Glacier)

--or--

long and easy (two hundred and eighty miles through the Hrod Basin and Storm Giant Pass). Well... it's easier, anyway.

Is it just me or does Storm Giant Pass seem a little too foreboding? Besides, no pain no gain! Let's go 'twixt them mountains and hop that glacier!

Well, Storm Giants sound a bit out of our weight class, so...

Huh. One day out and we're jumped by a not-Yeti.

Do we want to use hunting, animal kinship, or just attack it?

Animal kinship!

It is an animal? Eh, yes. Non-yetis now classify as animals.

Well, it is too hungry to control, but not hungry enough to overcome it's fear of fire.

This seems like a very specific level of hunger.

We get a five.

Yay RNG!

Well, jumping works in action movies

But, the engineer in me wants to make a bridge.

But who cares what I think. What do you think?

We make a bridge. We've lost enough of our special stuff to be risking losing it again.

No, No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I'm sure all of you missed me, but allow me to lay your fears to rest. Updates will continue at the previous pace! ...Largely because I remembered I was running a game here! Oh, and we got a 4

We also have sixth sense.

So... our sixth sense is telling us that there is a thingy nearby. It may like us, it may now. Who knows? Certainly not our Sixth Sense!

So, do we want to explore the fissure or stay in our nice, safe, warm, comfortable, non-threatening tent?

I can't believe I missed this starting up again!

Well, exploring a mysterious light in the fissure is tempting, but I'd rather not abandon our stuff at camp. That and nothing good ever comes out of something as ominous sounding as "fissure". Return to the tent.
