MF - April, 2010
I know they're a day late this month! Yesterday was my birthday, so cut me some slack, alright?
Without further ado, I present you with the April 2010 Monthly Features!
Art & Design
Nine – Nine’s Graphix
Though a newcomer to FOG and seemingly completely inactive, Nine’s thread to display his pursuit of the graphic arts struck me as something worthy of note. While some believe that utilizing angles and transparency to achieve nifty patterns and effects is the proper way to gain the attention of onlookers, Nine proves that the simple approach of piecing together an elaborate image within the confines of a rectangular block can be equally effective. By balancing colors and positioning the elements of his works in attractive ways, Nine creates alluring signatures, avatars and banners that certainly deserve some praise.
Written Works & Journalism
KT_Tonguetied – A Song for Klára
The start of a touching story involving a young street musician and his new acquaintance in the form of a poor young girl whose talent for music is matched only by her misfortune. Though only the beginnings of this undoubtedly heart-warming tale in the making are available for perusal, I have no doubts that any continuation would be a truly delightful and gripping account of these two characters and how their relationship buds over time, fraught with the difficulties of poverty and striving to make ends meet on their passion for music. The story leaves off with quite the cliff-hanger, and I can only wonder what might come next.
Roleplaying
Emoria
A monstrous undertaking involving months of planning and development, Emoria is the current rising star in the realm of roleplay on Footsteps of Ghosts. What began as a project headed by Silvone and Ryona has turned into an elaborate world with elements from the minds of a plethora of players. While the story has only just gotten under way, I foresee a vast world unfolding with a story that will both awe and inspire other writers to rise to such aspiring heights.
Sound Bytes
Hermes – The Road Not Taken
A delightful dictation of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Hermes delivers the lines of poetry with a quiet but even tone that makes it easy to relax and contemplate the meaning of the twenty-line poem.
While not an original work, Hermes presents a piece that can be related to by most, if not all, of the readers here at Footsteps of Ghosts; a poem that draws upon the conundrum of life’s little choices and their effects on how we continue to live. With each choice we make, another path is traveled down, and other paths are left behind. While it would be safer to take the road that has been worn clean by the repeated traffic, it is important to consider the benefits of taking the road not traveled.
In his poem, Robert recounts that he would leave the other path for another day. However, since one path in life most often leads to another, it was likely he could never return to that same crossing and see what lay beyond the second road. It’s a deep and meaningful poem, written with an interestingly unique ABAAB scheme that presents an almost lyrical composition. Hermes’ presentation of this piece was both pleasant on the ears and a thought-provoking reach into the history of poetry, where writers like Robert Frost inspire us to think more deeply about our lives even to this day.
Member of the Month
SilvanArrow
SilvanArrow has been a pleasant and helpful member since FOG’s infancy. While she may not have the epic post count boasted by some of our seasoned members, she certainly makes her rounds in both the roleplay and OOC areas of the boards. Plus, she commonly welcomes new members to the site with a friendly view of what they can expect from the community here on the boards.
For being such a pleasant and devoted member to Footsteps of Ghosts, and for her consistent activity in many of the board’s numerous facets, I happily present SilvanArrow with the Member of the Month Monthly Feature!
Congratulations to all of our monthly winners! You’ve all earned your place in the Monthly Features by inspiring the rest of us to excel in every aspect of our daily dealings amongst the FOG.

Re: MF - April, 2010
Congrats Nine, KT, Hermes, and Silvan Arrow!
Also, congratulations to Kalon, DeadEye, Buzzwulf, Raptorman, Kathryn Lacey, Hello Danger, Shadow Moonseye, Plaguewalker, Bird of Hermes (again), Blackrock, Dax, Silvone and Loki for sticking with Emoria through thick and thin, and creating the most awesome-ist RP EVER (you know, to me, lol). Couldn't have done it without you guys! (If I forgot someone who is actively RPing in Emoria, feel free to shoot Corbina in the foot!!!)

And thank you, Weiss, for finding my Sound Byte enjoyable.
Shout out: Emoria is the largest role-play that I have ever participated in. Thank you, Silvone and Ryona, for sticking with it.

O.O Um...wow, I'm overwhelmed! Thank you, Weiss, for considering me worthy of such a high honor amongst so many other deserving FOG members. I'll do my best to live up to the expectations of this position.
Hmmm...now to name my new little squad of ghosts... ^_^
