'Twas fun

I am sorry to say that I will be leaving FOG. Between school, work and family, I really have no free time. I've already packed up my x-box and uninstalled all of my computer games, so that is another distraction out of the way. I would like to say that I will be back during the summer, but honestly that isn't very likely. I will have to do some job searching, likely work two jobs for a while, consider moving out of our current place, etc. And then I've got another quarter of school in the fall.

All in all, there are too many things I need to focus on right now.

First of all, I want to apologize to Shadow Moonseye for leaving her with no engineer in Extraction. I am really sorry...had I known I was going to just leave I wouldn't have joined that role-play. Hopefully you can find someone to replace me (maybe Loki still wants the part?).

To Kalon and the rest of the Sephiris crew...well I think that role-play died anyway. But seeing its current pace, if you really want me to continue with it, and I really do, then just send me a message through Ryona or a PM. I will most likely get on every once in a while to check on things. Can't promise that my posts will be very fast though.

As for all of Emoria...I am REALLY sorry. But the fact is, you don't need me anymore It has become a self-sufficient group that really doesn't need a leader, which is what I wanted from the beginning. Ryona may stick around for a while, though she is under more pressure than me... But if both of us end up leaving, I fully expect Emoria to be able to continue, so long as that is what everyone wants. There is no reason it can't continue. There are three moderators in that role-play who can handle any arguments that crop up. The rest of it is collaborative effort. So, once again, I'm sorry...and good luck!
Oh! I would recommend doing some active recruiting for this role-play to fill in the empty spots. And I can send someone the map of the other continent if you like. And by active recruiting, I mean messaging some new (or old) members here to see if they are interested. I know that new members tend to shy away from pre-established role-plays, especially on the scale of Emoria, so it would be extremely useful to actually go to them. Emoria still has a lot of active members, but it certainly thrives on diversity.

As for my parting words... Thank you all for helping me with my writing. I've learned a lot by role-playing here, and it will undoubtedly help me with my own future writing. FOG is definitely filled with great people and outstanding writers I am really sad to leave, but I have no motivation or time to continue role-playing. Maybe someday I can return.

You are an amazing person and an amazing role player. You'll always have a place in FoG when you wish to return in full force, but I completely understand that you need to make time for your family and for yourself. Real life should always take precedence.

I think I might be gradually making my way back to FOG. Leaving was far harder than I had imagined it would be, but the time I left definitely served its purpose. I've managed to read the last seven chapters of my two textbooks, finish my 10 page research project outline for my senior seminar, catch up with my philosophy work (which was quite a bit harder than I expected, and nearly incapacitated my brain for a while), and now all I really have left are my two news stories for Public Affairs Reporting. Once those are out of the way, I will certainly have more time. And I only have one final, so that won't be so bad.

As far as my future schedule, expect Ryona and I to be gone from June 12-June 20, approximately. Graduation, Disney Land, relaxation. Family time...

After that point, I don't really know. We may or may not have internet for a while. Its all up in the air. But for now, I guess I'm back.

So I just wrote a big long thing and the internet crapped out on me...>.< here goes again:

Many of you have noticed Silvone's absence, I am sure. I regret to say that he is taking a hiatus from FOG, which may become permanent depending on what the future holds. This has nothing to do with FOG or the people in it, rather it is just that we have reached a point where Silvone's writing needs to be more work and less play. His novel, at this point, may be our only way out of poverty.

I feel bad in admitting that I have caused this departure; I have realized that he cannot do FOG and novel writing at the same time and I told him so. A few days later (A few very stubborn refusal days later) he agreed with me, and so, he has left.

I did not want to make any announcements because well, last time, I almost got usurped from Emoria...So I will take this moment to say that I am NOT leaving FOG, I will remain the head of Emoria and I will take over both of his characters (though, Valinyx be patient with me, I have a lot of catching up to do).

To other misc role plays, if you can find a way to keep them running, please do. He would not want anyone's fun ruined by his departure. Again, its just something that must be done.

To those in Sephiris, you are the reason he has clung to FOG so hard. Kalon, if you need to discuss anything with Silvone you have him on Facebook. I don't know if Barthon will be back or not.

If anyone has any messages for Silvone and you are not on his Facebook, you may send them to me and I promise to forward the message to him. I hope you all support him in his endeavor to become a published author. You have all helped him improve his writing and I hope he will be back to share his success with you!

This is almost what I need to do, though I have too many ties on FOG to make a break. I'm just going to give NaNoWriMo another shot.

Silvone's absence won't be felt too horribly in Sephiris for a while. Digital Muse and I need to bring our characters up to speed; and it looks like that in itself might be its own arc. We'll see how that goes.

Plus there's the holiday season, which seems to bring just about everything into hibernation. So yeah, pretty much everything should be fine for now. We might miss him terribly several months from now, but by then who knows where we'll be. ^^

I am returning to FOG in limited form. In short, I miss the companionship of all of the wonderful friends I have made since I first joined the site. Unfortunately, I will not be rejoining any old role-plays with the possible exception of Sephiris and the mandatory exception of Emoria. But both of those role-plays are rather slow in terms of posts.

So, what have I accomplished in my absence? Not much, to be honest. I have organized in my head and a bit on paper the layout of my first norjick book and I've written a bit more for my MechA story.


For my norjick book, in theory, I should be able to just sit down and write it now. Unfortunately, I don't have the attention span for that. Maybe I never will. I have always thought that writing was simply a hobby for me, but since I despise the field I went through 5 years of college to enter, it is now my last resort. So, FOG or no, I need to start acting like an adult. Writing is my job. FOG is my support team So, everyone, make sure I'm writing!

Anyway, I've been lonely and wanting to return for a while, so here I am!

I'm trying to finally start my books at the same time as all my other role-plays, so maybe we can help each other. ^_^

In fact, maybe we should gather all the Foggers trying to do the same thing, and be an extra-specific support group. xD

We should totally do that! Kind of like a NaNoWriMo thread, but just one for life in general. We can all offer support and ideas, and critique and proof-read if the writer wants.
