"See Last X Posts"

Most forums have some sort of a feature like this that lets you see the last (so many) posts that were made in the entire forum. Could this kind of feature be added here, or does one already exist, or is it not within the limits of this place?

Hmm, well I can't mess with the coding myself, unfortunately (or really, I should say onenitedrive can't, since he's the one that does all that stuff). But we do have the option to view all the newest posts from your last visit, if that helps:

I don't know if you've already seen that or not, but it's a link just above the first forum, next to other links:

This would be a good addition... this being phpBB, I'm fairly sure you could find such code for a box at the top with the latest posts from the internet.

Are you guys meaning where you hit reply, and it gives you the obvious space to make said reply; but if you scroll down a little more, you've able to see the last 10 or so posts previous? You're still able to do this. If you hit the button "Post reply" that'll bring you to a full new screen that gives the option. The text boxes at the bottom of threads are 'quick reply'. Not sure if this quite what you're meaning, but there's my two cents.

Look at the bottom. There's a button that says "View the 10 most recent posts of this forum." It lets you do just that.

Ahhh, I see. I don't think I've ever seen that before. The phpBB board that I was an Administrator of before this didn't have that either. I'm guessing it's a standard feature with Proboards.

Yeah, most everything on proboards is pretty standard. It's a very nice feature, though. Really helps you keep up on stuff.

It seems like it'd be pretty useful. I'll talk to onenitedrive tonight when he gets home from work to see if he could get that for us. :]

I like that idea. I used that feature a lot on previous sites, but got here and never really thought much of it.

Ah yeah, I see what you're talking about. That is a nice little feature. I searched around for awhile and unfortunately couldn't find a way to link to that, sorry Schrö. I posted about it on the forumotion forums to see if I overlooked it, but I'm guessing it will just be turned over to the "suggestion forum".

The thing is, although this is a phpbb3 forum, we don't pay to host it. We pay for the domain name (footstepsofghosts.com) but the actual phpbb software is hosted by forumotion.com. So we don't have access to the full phpbb control pannel, just the forumotion admin panel. Maybe some day we will invest in our own space and host the the forum/phpbb software ourselves, but for now this is what we have
