Loki's Canadian fishing trip. [Pictures!]

This past week my dad, two family friends, and I went to a friend's cabin on Lake Wabatongushi. As of thirty years ago (give or take) it had become a Game Preservation, making it impossible for anybody to buy land that wasn't already owned. Meaning much of the lake in uninhabited and virtually untouched by people.

And I took pictures!

Inside the Cabin. The only electricity we had is generated from solar cells that we use to power a few lights. Most of the appliances run off propane. Water is pumped from the lake. No phone. No cellphone towers.




We have our priorities set. =D

Wow, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking! It sounds like your trip was tons of fun. Thank you for sharing all these lovely pictures! On another note, I've always wanted to see a loon in the wild. Did you hear its song? My dad says that nothing can truly compare to hearing a loon with your own ears and that a recording just doesn't do it justice.

The loons sang every night and it was certainly enchanting, especially when there is a chorus of them.

Where I live and camp in Alberta (and where I grew up in BC) loons live year round. I grew up so close to them that you could hear them in the city - definately my favourite sound in the world.
And it looks like great fishing. Obviously a lake not ofter fished on. Lucky you

Loki, that looks so awesome man. I love times like that. Fishing, camping, grilling out, beer, friends/family, and no worries! It looks like a lot of fun, man!
