Ufufufufufu..!
I am The Thing Under The Sink.
Well, I don't doubt you can see that. I'm not calling your powers of observation into question, but as an introduction it's traditionally required for me to restate my obviously-visible name. My real name is unimportant, since, quite frankly, I don't intend to reveal it, but since my handle is a lot to type, you can call me Thing.
There's a bit of Addams Family love right there.
I enjoy a good horror, with fantastic elements or not. I play Nightmares and Dreams because, frankly, the two are interchangeable, and they invite aspects of the surreal into play. While it seems that most of my writing would be based on Neil Gaiman's 'The Sandman' series, I assure you that many other works influence my inspiration. You'll just have to find out what those elements are when you play with me.
My interests, as far as writing is concerned, are wide and varied; I'll try any genre at least once.
And in closing, since I've said all that is necessary, I'll leave you a snippet of one of my favourite poems, atrocious grammar and all:

The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the Colonel dead,
And the Regiment blind with dust and smoke,
The river of death has brimmed its banks,
And England's far, and Honour's a name,
But the voice of a schoolboy rallies the ranks:
'Play up! play up! and play the game!'
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the Colonel dead,
And the Regiment blind with dust and smoke,
The river of death has brimmed its banks,
And England's far, and Honour's a name,
But the voice of a schoolboy rallies the ranks:
'Play up! play up! and play the game!'

Hey there, Sink Monster! Welcome to FoG, and I hope you enjoy your stay. I've been here for a little while now, and I've found the community to be very supporting, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM someone. I'm sure that everyone is more than willing to help you out. Look forward to RPing with a fellow Cthonian (although, I suppose Lovecraft really has little to do with Gaiman.)

*o* It's another Neil Gaiman worshipper! Praise be the gods! \o/
Welcome to FoG my friend, and mind my emoticons. <3 And since you are a fan of 'The Sandman' series, I recommend you pick up 'Lucifer' next by Mike Carey. It's also a graphic novel - sort of a spinoff from the Lucifer Neil Gaiman created. Tis awesome.
:3 I think yee shall fit in perfectly.

Welcome to FoG, Thing!
Might I ask what you mean by "Nightmares and Dreams"? Would those be character archetypes? If so, I'm not familiar with them.
Also, now we need someone to join named Thing 2, so we have a fully Dr. Seuss set.

I think he was saying he likes to play Nightmares and/or Dreams as favorite role-play genres, holding them interchangeable and full of imaginative possibility.
Welcome to the FOG, Tuts! (T.hing U.nder T.he S.ink)
You've certainly come to the right place for eliterate role-playing.
Please look around and enjoy yourself. There's lots to do and see around here. ^^
Welcome again, and enjoy the swirly mists!

Welcome to the swirling mists, monster of mine!
Will you bite my stepmother by the way?
ANYWAY! We'll nibble a little on your hide and soul and make you ours, otherwise we're quite peaceful. Yes, very nice. Just watch your neck and our sharp teeth. Oh and don't go out during the full moon (although that is a myth, they still like the full moon) and so on. I'm sure you know the deal!
Once again, welcome!

Re: Ufufufufufu..!
How delightful. Many replies to consider and look over.
It seems that many of you are confused by what I mean by playing 'Nightmares and Dreams'. While it's oh so tempting to leave you in the dark and watch the ensuing debate that twists the meaning of meaning, I'll come clean.
No doubt you noticed reference to Neil Gaiman's Sandman series? In that series Dream of the Endless becomes trapped for a time in the waking world. After a while, the Dreams and Nightmares of his demesne begin to escape into the waking realm to look for him, to explore, and to cause chaos. The most notable of these is The Corinthian, a mass murderer who removes the eyes of his victims and always wears sunglasses to hide the little mouths where his own eyes should be. Needing at least a mention is Fiddler's Green, a place in the Dreaming which decided to get into the waking world. It took on human form and actually lived as a human for a while, before willingly heading back into the Dreaming.
So you see, I'm afraid I'm rather in love with this idea. It lends itself well to horror.

Yay! Another soul on which to feed! Err...I mean...welcome! You're definitely in the right place for excellent role-playing. As you can see, we're all a little psychotic to some degree, but I personally think it's much more fun that way. I think you'll find quite a few people who also enjoy a good horror RP, so I'm sure you'll fit in famously around here. Enjoy your time in the swirling mists!

Oh hi Thing! *whistles the Addam's Family theme song*
I love horror too, very much so, and I feel the same way about trying any genre once.
More importantly, it's nice to eat you - I mean, meet you.
Heh. Just kidding. Here at FOG we only nibble a little... on your soul...
I hope you're enjoying it here! It's nice to meet you.

Well, Thing. If insanity is your trump card, please allow myself to introduce myself.
I am a fan of all things cosmogoric, eldritch, horrifying and dark.
I love mental illness in roleplaying and in literature, and I read The King In Yellow for fun and excitement.
So, if you do horror, if you revel in insanity. If dementia is the domain you call home, and delirium your warm bed at night, follow me, and we'll see how deep the rabbithole goes.

I'm having a good look around at the moment. I haven't yet found a thread that appeals to me, so I'm a little disappointed. But I'll keep looking.
I have spotted a fairly good fic thread, though, so I think I'll stay a little longer...
