It's all so...magical!

While I wait for my Object RP to pick up and flourish, i was hoping to have a bit of Magic RP with Mages, witches, what-have-you. I am not looking for something eternal and enduring, just something to write for. I gots me all these creative juices, and they are bubbling in my head.

Let's see...mages are humans, and through intentional spell and the use/manipulation of magic in general, they live longer than normal people (around 200, 250 at the oldest). There will be the generic mystical creatures; fairies the size of your palm, wise dragons, kind unicorns. Also the darker beasts; intangible spirits and demons, Hags, evil Wyrms (small dragons who are bitter because they are runts).

Magic is based on three components: the word, the glyph or symbol and the potion (plants, animal by products, etc.)

Magic is not required of characters, and there will be the usual classes of fighter and rogue. I have not decided on a character yet...definitely a mage, though, so you can work with, for or against him/her.

I dont want to put too much effort into getting thing started, because it always seems like after all the planning, the RP doesn't pan out. I would like to just post some character sheets and jump into the RP. Anyone interested?

I wouldn't mind being a part of this...maybe a wise dragon and/or a mage?

I would prefer the mage, but you can be a dragon. I was thinking that the non-humans would be supplementary characters to support the plots of the humans.

I was thinking to play a mage who meets or already knows a dragon, if that is OK. The dragon can be a minor thing if you want.

Yes, meeting or knowing the dragon will be fine. I am going to create the OOC and the IC tomorrow...do you think we should move to the one-on-one area, or just get started here and let people join as they will?

I'll leave that up to you. I don't mind leaving it here, perhaps if you write down a plot it will get more interest.

Gah...I didn't come up with a plot...I will think of something then. Any ideas?

Well, you can go with the usual overthrowing a big bad guy...

Or perhaps there are two warring nations using magic on each sides...

Or we can do a more modern theme, mixing our world with this magical world. I do wonder how that would go with dragons though

Maybe Dragons cant cross the veil, but the mages can.

In this world, mages have only the power to open the door, in the other world they have all of the magical abilities.

Or perhaps their magic is still useable, but muffled. They would need a reason to go into our world though. Access to something they don't have? Or someone?

Unless they start here, and they go into the other world for access to their powers.

I like the sound of that. Two (or more) ordinary people thrust into a magical world where they realize they are much more than what they thought they were. Sounds like a lot of fun!

No rush...I am desperately trying to build up the oomph to clean up my sleeping area. Which results in strong desires to eat Pringles and watch movies.
