He fends off the priest's enquiries long enough to drive the party deep into wild territory. There's a fight that breaks out, nothing too crazy. We see out first Orfardin and realize that the gaunts are more organized than anyone expected.
While this is happening, we skip ahead about a month back to Kamon' Belkar, where Lairelosse and Meyul have developed a sort of grudging respect for each other. Meyul thinks Lairelosse is too soft, and Lairelosse believes Meyul has sacrificed far too much of herself for power. Lairelosse also is getting slightly more of a handle on her powers, but she still slips in and out of focus at times.
The party traveling to the mountains finally gets there, and Saint begins his song and dance for the paladins. He leads them on a merry chase with false artifacts while both protecting Alos and the Thendari from the more deadly attentions of Morgorath. Dax and the delegates from the south move on, and they begin to talk of bringing the Lady (that being Meyul) to the Papus of Vatienne in a peacekeeping mission.
In breale (is that the right place? probly not.), most of the fighting has finally calmed down, and the Lich inside whats-her-face is imprisoned with the help of vatiennian priests. She still has command of most of the Lich's powers, so the priests decide to send her back to Vatienne. If the Papus can't get that thing out of her, no one can.
Lairelosse, Meyul, Jean, and Saide travel to Vatienne and partake in dignitary-y things. it seems to be going pretty well until Lairelosse has crippling attacks of otherworldlyness. She finally manages to fight them off just before they're taken to see the Papus, and he expunges the problem from her altogether, booting her back into the normal frame of time. Just in time, the chick from Breale shows up, and Morgorath uses the signature of the Lich in her body to shadowwalk or whatever into the Papus's room and kill the crap out of him. Laire, Meyul, and Saide have to fight their way back to thier ship.
Once they get back to Kamon' Belkar, Meyul is pissed, and tells Morgorath to his face. She doesn't like being treated like a pawn. Morgy sics Saint on her, and she drops him really fast. Not one to be deterred, Morg rips out her parasite or whatever it is and leaves her to bleed out on the floor. Lairelosse grabs her and books it, and Saide sacrifices himself so they can both get away.
Saint blocks Lairelosse's way, and she tells hims to basically stop being such an overprotective asshole. he's somewhat taken aback, and doesn't really know how to respond. In the confusion, Lairelosse and Meyul slip away, heading north. Meyul wants to immediately take revenge, but Lairelosse councils patience.
Saint, in the meantime, is fuming. He feels as though he really doesn't know what he wants to be doing now that his sister has up and left his protection, and focuses on Alos. Unfortunately, she goes behind his back and makes the same deal he did with Morgorath, but without the good intentions. Asthe newest Moriquende, Alos starts doing Morgorath's will frighteningly well, and Saint is appalled at the reflection. He starts feeding information to the Thendari.
Lairelosse and Meyul escape the tower and join Nilus and his group of Aryans. They fight hordes of Gaunts, and both Meyul and Lairelosse prove to be fairly invaluable in battle. Against thier better judgement, both Nilus and Lairelosse find themeselves atttracted to each other, and a battlefield romance blooms (admittedly, a somewhat dark, I-can-kill-you-really-easy kind of romance).
They finally assault Morgorath's stronghold (not really sure what the plans from Kalon or Dax were there, so I left it kinda open), and Meyul resumes control of the south. Saint stabs Morgorath in the back at the last minute, but he is a being of pure will at this point, and impossible to kill. Saint goes into the shadow plane and agrees to be the new avatar of the council of shadow, as this cuts all power to Morgorath and essentially makes him cease to exist. Upon breaching the material plane again, Saint considers seizing power for a moment... and then lets it go. He ceases to exist as well.
After the war, Alos begins kidnapping Quende children and entering them into pacts with shadow spirits, creating a very small group of Moriquende.
