Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Well guys, when we get down to it, its looking closer and closer to being only three or four of us. We're losing a couple of major players.
I'm not so sure what to do, knowing that of twenty plus people only 3 or 4 remain.

We lost some people from the site altogether, but some are still here, just not interested anymore.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
At least we finished the council.
I suppose if we wanted to continue, we could go small-scale and tell the story from a side-angle. Kinda like playing a canon fanfiction. xD As if the Morgarath arc had already completed and now we're revisiting the story from other characters' perspectives, and maybe crossing paths with some of the 'heroes' of the 'main story' along the way. xD
This could be a way to keep ideas churning and have some great experiences in the joint world until all these new members we're getting notice us and start to become interested.
Since it's casual, we could treat it casually and go more for enjoyment, sort of being fans of ourselves. It could be the ultimate role-playing indulgence. We could call it Reflexive Fanfiction, even make a genre out of it. xD
Hm...
At first I wasn't really serious, but that went on longer than I thought, and now, hm, I dunno.
*raises hand* I'm game if that sounds fun to you guys.

I'm not going to say no, but I also am not going to be taking charge of it. If guys want to do it, that's fine, and I'll do my best to be a part of it. If no one wants to take control and lead it, please let me know so that I may close it.

Sorry for being slow to reply!
I am still interested in keeping this going, in one way or another. I would like to see what everyone thinks about how we go about it before giving my ideas, but I will say that I like the story telling perspective that Kalon presented. Reminds me of The Canterbury Tales.

I kinda want to see what it would be like if Hermes were to lead something like that.
If she's up for it, of course. ^_^

It's not hard, especially with literate people with you. ^_^ Good experience.
I think we'd get a fresh perspective. At least for myself I'd love to see how it would feel with you at the reins, more or less, especially since you were one of the ones with a lot to contribute during the earliest world building phase.

I know that I cannot. I just don't have the energy.
BoH, if you are planning to run it, first thing we need to do is figure out which of these threads can go. Let me know what you want to stay, and everything else I will lock and ask Fayt to move to archives.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
I will run it, but I want everyone to know that this is still a collaborative project; I want everyone's input.
I will review all of the Emoria files and threads and role-plays, but it's not going to be quick. There's a ton of information in there! Once I do, I will poll everyone who wishes to be involved about how we should re-start it. I feel I need to review all of the old Emoria before I can make any detailed plans for the future.
Thank you, Ryona Noel, for having me. I will do my best not to kill your baby. And I will also try not to murder GMing (which is a looming possibility given my experience).

Haha. I'm very happy you are stepping up to the plate, and if you need to delegate any of the workload to me, just drop me a line. I just don't want to organize the whole thing, but I definitely don't mind helping out in any way you need me.

Kalon, between you and BoH, can you handle any moderating stuff that might be done in here? I'd like to ask Fayt to remove my "Emorian" moderator status as soon as it's no longer needed.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Sure, no problem.
Since it's not the huge project with all the topics and posts and info archives and all that anymore, it shouldn't be any trouble to edit or move stuff here or there as needed.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Hey! sooooo, I kind of want in on the fandom thing. I think the size of it was partially what caused me to lose interest so quickly in the beginning. Waiting for everyone and trying to get all of the information sorted while trying to delegate between ideas that worked and ones that didn't ((and deciding what did and didn't work)) was just... a giant pain in the rump.
Anyway, if I join, I'm still open to the trimming or removal of Taure Arda.

So...I wonder what the legalities are surrounding the idea of me writing a book about Emoria...

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
You can use our characters with permission, and give us a small percentage of the royalties, and ask us what we'd have them do in the story. xD
Or you could probably make a derivative... That might work, too.
"Based on the epic role-play on www.footstepsofghosts.com" xD

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Some people aren't around to get permisssion from, though. I sent fayt the hypothetical question out of curiosity. To be honest, I couldn't afford to do it and pay everyone involved. It would be way to much work and not enough profit, lol. Unless it got ridiculously famous I guess.
But if it could happen I would ask permission of anyone still around anyway, and of course credit everyone. I think, if someone else were to write it, I would love to see them use my info even if I didn't make money off of it. Just to see a creation in print would be an honor.
This is all just dreaming though.
Edit:
So I talked to Fayt and she said that as long as there were acknowledgements that there isn't really anything stopping me. However, I would still want to get permission. I made a list of everyone whose information is currently active:
Bird of Hermes, Blackrock, Buzzwulf, Dax, Elric, Gabe, Hello Danger, Immortal Sin, Kalon, Kathryn Lacey, Loki, Guilty Carrion, Quakernuts, Raptorman, Gadreille, Sighlent, Ysopet, Spectre
Of those, here are the people I cannot contact:
Dax, Elric, Immortal Sin, Raptorman, Spectre
And of those, I know that in order to keep the story in its truest form, I still need:
Dax, Immortal Sin, Raptorman
So I'm at a conundrum there. And that is only assuming that everyone else is good with my idea, which is a wild assumption.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
We could just change whatever we can't get permission on. ^^ Substituting Morgarath wouldn't be too hard, since we haven't seen much of him in the story.
Substituting Jean would be the most difficult, of those. I'm sure Dax wouldn't mind at all and would completely support it. Maybe we'd be able to contact him before it goes to print. xD
Worst case scenario, all we'd really have to do is re-imagine the Vatienniens from a Sildari standpoint, as opposed to Dax's original vision of them.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
Yes, Dax's info has me worried the most. Whether or not I know he would support it, I don't want to take his info without asking. It's just...not right. Plus, if I did manage to get this to print (don't get too excited) I would hate to have to backtrack and change all of that info if he never resurfaces.

Re: Emoria: World-Building OOC
With Hello Danger and Sighlent both either denying/ignoring/not seeing my request, it seems that progress in gaining permission has halted. Other than spamming their facebook inboxes with messages from my self, I don't see any other way to get ahold of them.
