WOOOOOW! Congrats Ragter! :] I'm hoping to get there today as well. It is so close I can almost taste it! >.<
Will you be finishing your novel? Mine is going to be continuing well passed 50k ... probably more like 90k. The plot-line has only really just got into full swing.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I think that my novel is pretty much finished at this point; if I decide to do Nano next year, I think that I set up the perfect sequel hook. Plus, it would be kind of strange for me to continue the novel considering the last few lines of the book, so...basically, probably not.

I am at 33,300 and I am only just now getting the exposition done. Mine is going to be a long one.

Yeah. I was kinda the same. The dialogue didn't start until around 5k ... and the plot didn't really start until around 20k.
Nearing on the 50k mark (WOOP) and the plot is twisting a little
(Planned twist, of course!)

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I am still slightly ahead of where I should be. I am hoping to get in some good writing today but it looks like it will be a busy day. I am hoping to get to 40k soon! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I just hope that light isn't a freight train!

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Every couple hundred words is a struggle...oh how I wish this last12K would come out as fast as the first 12K did!

My own first 12thousand were agony it is honestly easier now, but my story is going to be really long.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
That's a good think raptor! Ryona, I just went through a really tough spot with my novel and the writing was terribly hard for me but I got through it. It turned out better than I thought it would. I say this because I have full faith in your ability to succeed just as I did. It may look hard now but if you can just get through this part it will get easier. I know you can pull off a win for us in FoG!
On a side note I am sitting at 39k right now. Not as far as I want to be but my power went out so I kinda got screwed for a while on working on my novel.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I have like 6 view point characters now though. It is getting more difficult to handle them all, I suppose though since some of them like the tyrant without an empire are going to die fairly soon it isn't so bad.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I met today's requirement, but I am trying to write enough to cover tomorrow's requirement as well, so I can have turkey day off...I have to cover backstory of my secondary character, and honestly, I don't know where he's been the past three years. Guess I'll find out haha.
Congrats to the winners!

I know I have to write about the attack on the town but I don't want to do that today.
I have no juice for writing today.

Got to 41,667, which I believe is the requirement for tomorrow...hopefully I can write tomorrow anyway, but I doubt it because (of course) Silvone is working and I will have no one to watch Taeo, and when he gets home there will be a dinner celebration. I sure hope I can write on friday, saturday and sunday though! I do not want to fall behind when I'm this close to finishing!

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I'm at 3,000-something. I think one of my problems is overanalyzing. I should just be getting the writing of it done so I can edit; that was the point. Instead I did a lot of planning and research that needed to be done, but which shouldn't have slowed me down nearly as much as it did.
But hey! After today, there're still 5 days left. We'll see how far I get.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Congratulations on working so hard everyone. I was just freaking out a moment ago, mostly because of the fact that recently, a lot of things on my desktop disappeared...and this included my saved story. I managed to find it by finding a shortcut in my AppData folder which pointed to the desktop; seems it's still there, I just can't see it.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I am hoping to be at 45k by the end of the night. As I am only 300 words away from that I think I can make it. I am hoping to complete 50k this weekend. Congrats to all the other winners! Everyone else I know you can make it! We are in the final days so lets see a strong finish for FoG!
Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I'm at 46,473 and I am hoping to finish tomorrow if I can, since I am going to be busy next week. If not tomorrow, I should be able to finish by monday, as long as I keep up with my 2000 per day requirement.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Good luck Ryona! Right now I am 430 away and I ran out of all the stuff I had planned. What do I do!? Anyone have any suggestions?
Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Go back through and extend some sentences. Add a useless detail here or there. Expand ones dialogue or thoughts. Take a part any don'ts or hasn'ts. You'll be surprised how quickly that 430 disappears!

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Thanks! Right now I am doing like you suggested. Well, adding in some somewhat useless detail. I got 100 words left so soon I might be going back and pulling apart all contractions. Good luck with your novel as well! I know you have what it takes to finish!
Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I've got about 1700 left, but I've also got people bothering me left and right. I am determined to finish today!
Also, make sure you verify as soon as you are done because the nano site says that their counter isn't always the same as the word counter, so it might be off by a bit.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I have ultimately failed at This with an ending work count of 37,000 my story fizzled. But I did learn that I was able to write alot out and this is practice for when I write for real. So I count it as a success of sorts.

I haven't succeeded yet, but I don't know if I can make it or not, but I'm sure trying.
I'm glad that things are going well for everyone else though, even if you haven't made the 50K or not.
We still have some time though!

Sorry to hear that you didn't make 50k Raptor; the important thing is that you tried! Who knows, you might win next year!
To Ryona and Sunwolf, congrats, and finally, to rain, you can do it! I believe in ya; you still have to day and tomorrow!

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
I have to say that this was one of the best things that happened to me this year. I know I complained about it a bit but overall it was awesome and I couldn't have done it without my friends at FoG. It was awesome and I enjoyed winning with the best of FoG. For those that failed this year I am sure that you have the ability but this year wasn't your year. I have full confidence that you will be able to complete the 50k novel next year.
Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Well, like I say, I did a lot better than the big fat Zero of last year. ^^
Final count: 3,852 / 50,000.
Guess that's som'm.

Re: NaNoWriMo [2010]
Good job everyone. It was a pleasure working with you. Right around thanksgiving I was sure I wouldn't finish; I'm glad most of us crossed the finish line together! This is my second attempt, so I don't doubt that everyone can learn from this time and use it to make it to the final count next time!
