They are blank boxes for me as well because of an ad-blocking add-on I have. At first, I just thought some of the page wasn't loading right.

^ Yeah, that's what it looks like for me too. At least new people who come to check us out might have ad blocker on as well and won't notice our advertisements.

The ads are what keep Forumotion.com "free," but obviously paying Forumotion to remove the ads is an alternative route. Either way, they're making money, whether its from the forum administrators or from the people who pay them to run their ads. The ads aren't for me or to help me run FoG any, so there's no point in me keeping them there.

Oh, I know they're not for you. I'm just saying that they don't bother me. It's still really cool that you're willing to go the extra distance to make sure that we don't have to put up with them, though. ^^

You probably just don't have an ad-blocker, Digital Muse. Starting tomorrow, the ads will be gone again though anyway.
