Winter Banner

For a limited time, FoG will be featuring a very snowy forest banner to honor the season (at least for those of us in this hemisphere). Let FoG help you get in the spirit of the season (all my own personal loathing for winter aside)!

Did you improve the blur/smudge effects on FOG? They seem better to me.

Anyway, it looks nice (once it finally decided to load for me lol). Makes me hate where I live even more though.

I actually just kept the text and everything exactly the same, just overlapped the original banner layer with the new banner (keeping the text layers on top), so maybe it just appears different because of the background? I'm not sure.

The banner is lovely, Fate! Living at the coast for grad school, obviously we don't get snow unless it's some freak storm or something. I'm not a fan of cold weather, but I simply adore snow!

It's too bad you don't normally get snow if you enjoy it, Silvan, but at least now you can see it whenever you visit here!



ANNOUNCEMENT: I have just finished creating a new banner for all 4 seasons, and I'm really excited about all the amazing pictures I was able to find for them. FoG will now be keeping updated with each new season. You guys will have to wait until spring though to see the next banner.

No sneak peaks? Please?

Anyway I really enjoy the snow banner as winter is my favorite season. Can't wait to see all 4 banners!

Its really pretty! I love the idea of all four seasons but...aren't we technically still in fall? Winter doesn't start (officially) until December 21st, right? I guess by now it feels like winter no matter what the calender says.

I thought about that when I created the new seasonal banners this morning. Do you think we should change banners based on the official date of change? I guess that would make the most sense (despite the leaves not being on the trees at all in most places anymore).

Well, you guys get to see our fall banner now then!

I dunno. If you think about it, each season is kind of comprised of three months despite when the official equinoxes are.

March, April, May = Spring
June, July, August = Summer
September, October, November = Autumn
December, January, February = Winter


However, I really love the autumn banner. ^^_^^

I like using those months for the seasons, Kathryn. I think I'll go with that actually then. I don't have time to change the banner again though, since I'm leaving for work! I'll do it on my break.

Yea its still fall here, the leaves are only just beginning to drop, but I think the way Kathryn set it up will do nicely. By the first of the month people are usually in the spirit of the season.

I do love the fall banner though XD

And we've had so much snow in my home area that they've had two snow days in a row... In northwest PA... Under Lake Erie... Where snow days don't happen.

So, I still don't like snow, but the banner is beautiful!
