Extra Credits

I am unsure how many people on here frequent the awesome gaming site called the Escapist. This site I've found has a very solid balance on fun and thought. Many of the articles push for games to be something more. To push our young medium finally into the realm of art with movies and books, though never losing the fun side of video games.

The particular show I want to share with you all is called Extra Credits. It takes an honest look at the industry and the people who keep it going including developers, distributors and us. The gamer. The last two episodes I've found to be particularly good and can be watched here and here. And I was curious to know what my fellow gamers on here thinks of these issues along with the others they have discussed which can be viewed on the site as well.

This link will have their discussion on Sex in Games. It is a very well thought out and honest talk about our mediums still childish view or out right rejection of the most basic and trans formative actions in the human life.

This link brings us to their discussion on Sexual Diversity in games. This one is one of their best shows right now. (And no not because they talk about Persona 4 my favorite RPG of all time.) It looks at one of the most fleshed out human characters in gaming history and why gaming as a whole benefits from solid story telling and breaking the walls of what many see as the "standard" video game character.

I must say, that is a very good find my friend. I'm definitely going to be looking more into the Escapist as well as seeing if I can't find some way to play Persona 4.
