INCEPTION

Thats right boys and girls.
I've decided to attempt to create an Inception roleplay here on FoG.

This is mainly to see if I can get enough players to fill the roles.

These are the people I'll need.

the mentor ； is the recruiter who rallies up the team and is the glue of the operation
the extractor ； implants a simple idea or withdraws information from the target's mind { Ragter the junior greeter }
the point man ； researches the target and makes sure everything runs smoothly { Spectre }
the architect ； constructs various dreamscapes described as labyrinths { my role }
the forger ； takes the form of another being in order to manipulate the target
the tourist ； the employer who proposed the mission and insists on joining them
the chemist ； who formulates the drugs needed to sustain the dream states { Dio the Awesome }

the shade ； is the projection of the forger
the mark ； the next in chain of command
the associate ； an executive who works for the mark


I don't have a plot down just yet but I have a simple idea.

We begin with inception.
The tourist {the employer} comes to the team with a request ; plant an idea in the mind of a very powerful man. What is that idea?
Expose the government.

Yeah.
That can be taken in many different ways.
I'd love to hear your ideas and thoughts.
Maybe together we can work something out.

I loved Inception (mainly because I love arguing with people about movies), and I'd certainly be up for participating. In fact I'd be just giddy playing any role, and the idea being planted seems like it could be incredibly fun to work with.

So now my head's already spinning with ideas, and plenty of questions (just like after the movie...). I think this could turn out really well, especially with a lovable cast of characters.

Oh the anticipation... I'd love to see this pan out.

Oh I hope we can get it off the ground as well.

Gah! I had maded a post like 2 days ago, and the internet ate it I guess.

I want to take part in the role play, but I am now leaning towards the role of chemist, since I want to use an idea I had. In brief, it uses hallucinagenic compounds in the sedative to trick the subconscious, but that is an idea for a later time.

As for the government plot.

Which government? I would prefer a government outside of the states, possible in a destabalized country, which could allow for more possibilities.

Second, are we crusaders out to expose a corrupt government, or are we guns for high, set out to topple the government or install a new leader for profit?

I saw inception as well, just a short while before Christmas. I have to say that it was a good movie, though the ending frustrated me(than again, ambiguous endings always do). I'll throw my hat into the ring, probably as the extractor, if the roleplay gets off the ground floor.

Heya there. I'm interested in this Roleplay, indeed. After seeing the movie in theaters when it came out, i thought of a similar idea to formulate a roleplay based off of the idea. However, my ideas seem to capture no interest so i figured i'd hold off and hope someone else does it.

But i'm interested in a point man.

But i've got the same questions as Dio had, about what sort of people we are... But i think it'd be nice to have both freelancers and crusader types.

My thought process takes me to France for some reason. I don't know why. Or maybe just a ficticious/ nondescript second world country. Maybe there's a regime beginning after the first year of a new leader that is focused on control and heavy surveillance... Maybe a-la V for Vendetta or something...? Just some thoughts.

Alright boys. Seems like we've got the main roles taken care of.

As for the government plot, I was thinking we would do something in a small country, far from the US or possibly even take this to an Alternate Earth type scenario. The idea they are planting is for the Vice President / Chancellor / Whoever the Next in Command. He is to overthrow the current leader and expose the government for supplying their enemies with weaponry OR something else. That was just what I came up with while I was offline.

As for who we are, I'm thinking there is a mix of freelancers { guns for hire } and crusaders { who want the secrets exposed }. That way the group is diverse and we have a wide range of characters.

Thinking that, much like the movie, The Extractor and The Point Man have been working together for a long time so they know each other well. The Architect comes in and then the rest of the team is assembled.

I hate to bump what might be considered an old topic, but I was curious if this game had, or would be starting? I'd like a role, but as a newcomer, I'm not sure if I'm able to join, or would be welcome to.

I've seen the move several times and loved it. With the positions that are currently available, I could see myself having fun with the Forger.

It's been a good eighteen days or so since the last post, so I hope there's still interest, and that my post here is appropriate.

I for one am still interested. And it is always good to bump a thread anyways to generate new or old interest.

Anyway, I'd like to be the Tourist (the employer). I bet I can pull off playing the role of a powerful business man really well. I had this idea of such a man finding out a dirty secret about the corporation he works for; which is a contract with the government of [nation], dealing with weapons trade or human trafficking; you know, something that really strikes up a need to "expose the government" in people.

I'm still interested in this as well; we just have to wait for Supernova to reply.

Unfortunately Little SuperNova hasn't been on since the 10th, so don't count on her reply. If enough people still express interest however, it would be possible to start it anyways... I think.

Perhaps sending her a private message (she may have the option of being notified via email) would get her attention. However, if she doesn't respond, then maybe someone could take the lead and get things moving?
