Google+ Anyone?

A lot of us may now know that Google is preparing to throw open the doors to their new pet project called Google Plus (or Google+); but access to the new social networking platform remains restricted and air tight, in the same manner as they did with Google Voice after they bought out Grand Central.
What I'm curious to know is: anyone here on FoG lucky enough to be one of these beta users that has access to a Google+ account, and is this new social network as great as everyone is anticipating it to be? From all the research I've done from official Google sources (not just from ranting blogging communities), I can definitely see some major separations from Facebook and Twitter and am actually excited about this.

I have a friend who's in (yeah, cliche I know) and she didn't seem to be all that impressed with it. Then again, she's a bit overly critical, so I wouldn't judge it until I saw it for myself.

I'm not overly familiar with Google Plus, but I definitely wasn't into Google Buzz. I'm not sure what to think yet. I'll try it out once it's released, I'm sure.

Yeah, one of my friends added me on Google+. I haven't spent much time with it, but the layout is very clean and easy to navigate. I think I may use it more once more people get on it, but for now it's just a fun little distraction and nowhere near to replacing Facebook.

Are you able to add more friends? Gunneh said he "has invites" last night on Skype but I logged out too fast to see the message and only just read it in the archives. If he was online right now I'd be virtually tackling him to grab at them.

I'm pretty sure you can invite anyone in your gmail contacts... I really haven't paid too much attention to it after my invite, because I only know like two other people with accounts. But yeah, I got an account a couple weeks back from one of my Awesome Foreign Friends (TM).
Anyway, what I saw looked really well designed, but that was only like three pages because I don't have many contacts in it so most of the pages have no content. :\

I think I could add more friends quite easily if I had their email contact info. It would be easiest if they were on Gmail, I think, but I haven't looked much into it yet. I would definitely be open to adding any of my FoG friends if they were so interested!

I was looking into this to see if it was interesting, even made a Gmail account (I use Yahoo Mail instead). Checked the Google+ page and apparently they have "temporarily exceeded their capacity", despite the fact that the invite only Beta was designed to keep the community small at first.
This makes me laugh to be honest, because Google has successfully garnered enough attention so as to fill up the testing stage with accounts. Chances are that many more accounts are to come, especially when they go completely public.
Couple this with the fact that Anon has targeted Facebook (whether they will follow through with the threat or not isn't for certain at this point) and you never know, Google+ might just become the new social network "King".

I think I created a profile there. But it doesn't look very cool. All I can do is have a very small profile and a dd a pic. I wonder if I am doing something wrong.

If Google is smart (lol, "IF") then they'll rush the beta and complete the true public release by November. That way they will soak up all the lost souls that have nowhere to go when Facebook goes boom.

If anyone is still wanting a G+ account, I noticed that they included a new way to get the word out to new users. You can share a unique link with your friends. It's limited to 150, but I noticed that this counter resets itself after a certain amount of time (weekly? monthly? Not sure yet.). Anyway, just leave this here link for anyone that still wants an account.

I have it but haven't gotten around to filling out stuff. It's nothing to write home about. The only reason i got it is because having so many family on facebook just got too uncomfortable.

Haha, yeah. It's not too bad but sometimes ugh. One time she wished me happy birthday and then used my family nick-name. I was like "Ah, mom, why to you have to be so embarrassing?! Delete comment, delete comment!" My sister embarrassed me too once, 'cause she made a comment about one of our old teachers and I happen to have him as a friend to. I was like praying he didn't read it because he also happens to be our neighbor. <.<' Small town. Ugh.
