You had me at "expert"

It's really sad that so many people pervert the meaning of "literate" by calling themselves thus, then writing a one-line post with such atrocious grammar and spelling that they would flunk out of third grade English class, isn't it?
Anyway, hi. I'm Ceridwen, aka Ceri or Cleo, been roleplaying for many years, etc. etc. etc. I frequently find myself on the hunt for new RP partners, either because my old partner died (literally) or turned out to be crazy or continually breaks my heart by getting right to the climax of an RP, then deciding she's bored and flaking out (that's what's happening right now). So here I am, looking for RP partners again, preferably ones who actually know how to write well and also preferably play their own original characters in their own original worlds.
I should warn you I have a tendency to come off snooty, and that's not my intent; I just get fed up with people saying they're great writers when they're really not, or giving up on an RP halfway through, or trying to completely godmode their character into the only position of importance in a story, and so on. Really, I'm very nice and accommodating, and it's my fondest wish to find a fellow RP partner of equal or greater writing skill, with a passion for the same types of stories as I have. That's my eternal hope.

Thanks a lot! Yes, I really prefer one on one. I've taken part in multiple-partner RPs before, and they're okay but I find it's difficult to maintain post quality, not to mention posting order can be a hassle, so I prefer one on one. I'm lurking some now, I'll wait until I have a better idea of what goes on here before I risk mucking it up by invading anyone else's thread. :p

You've definitely come to the right place if you seek decent role-play partners. We have a wide variety of people who value proper grammar, good writing, and sticking to their commitments. Many of the people of FoG are aspiring authors or simply love to write and have found this to be a good place to do so.

May I make a small suggestion while you're here? If you make a full line of space between each paragraph you make in both the in character and out of character sections , it's a lot easier for people read what you've written. This really only applies to when you're writing in forums because it's obviously not an issue if you're writing a novel or something of that sort.

I'm Kathryn, and I'm sort of FoG's "counselor." If you need any advice or problems, I am here to help. You can also go to any of the other moderators if you like, for we're all here for the same purpose though some specialize a bit more than others.

You've definitely come to the right place. Everyone here is long past the common faux pas of role-playing. Just take a look around. When I first came here, I got one look at the quality of writing and went "I'm home."

I came here from GaiaOnline, and it can be difficult to find literate role-playing there. The few places that do have literates seem to be the 'you can't join unless you post THIIIIIIIIIIS much every time' type. xD

Thanks a lot! Yeah, I didn't think about adding the double line to just my post here, but I always do that in my actual posts (I was ushered into RP through AIM so I'm used to not having indentation available). I'm glad to hear there are other like-minded individuals here, I'm really hopeful I can find some good partners/games to join in here!
