Floating in the fog

I haven't written anything for fun since college, and feel the urge to put pen to paper once more. I have got some creative juices going and am blowing dust off old topics so hopefully I will have some things to contribute. I am pretty laid back and love to read sci fi and fantasy, but have a few ideas for a good old mystery. Regardless, the level of writing here makes me interested in joining the population, so hopefully we will have some fun later.

Well, you have come to the right place if you want to dust off your writing skills and be held to a good standard. Take a look around and get the feel of the place before jumping in and I assure you that you will fit in quickly. I am sure one of the mods will be by soon to give you links to all the rules and such but trust me if you want to improve your writing skills and have fun doing it you have come to the right place. I know, I know, I'm late, but cut me some slack! The bus hit me on the way in last night, and, well...I haven't been the same since. 
You see, in years past, the FOG bus used to run perfectly. But my absence...it's torn the bus apart! I'm the junior greeter of the board! How could the bus dropping new people off be happy with its greeter gone! But, my dear bus, I am back now! And I forgive you for hitting me!
Ahem, a pleasure to meet you Talas; I hope you enjoy it here! Scifi huh? Have you by any chance ever read Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy?
