If you're looking to start a role-play, you can post in the interest checks of the appropriate section, to see if anybody is interested in joining your idea. Private role-plays are one-on-one. Casual role-plays are a groups with a bit more casual writing style but still within the site's guidelines. And Advanced is for really long and indepth stories and posts. You can also look in the interest checks to see any role-play ideas you might be interested in joining.

If people respond to your interest check(s), then you can make an OOC thread if you want, in the OOC Discussions, and then start posting in the main section(either private, casual or advanced) the opening post for your in-character thread.

Could you perhaps be more specific? What exactly are you trying to figure out?

If you've ever joined any other role-playing message boards, this is very similar. We have Advanced, Casual, and Private role-playing forums to suit your needs. Inside each is a subforum for OoC and Interest Checks. Interest Checks is a great place to start when creating a RP. Simply start a topic there asking if people would be interested in joining a role-play about such-and-such. Then, you can move forward from there in the Out of Character forum and create your role-play's official OoC thread, where all out of character talk and discussions can take place.

We also have a role-playing forum called Caligo, and all information regarding that universe can be found in the FoG in Caligo drop-down menu on the main page's navigation.

There are other forums as well, but those should all be self explanatory. If this didn't answer your question, then please let us know how we can further assist

Welcome to FoG. If you are wondering about specific things like rules and such the links are at the top of the homepage under information. Fate and Ten covered the RP aspect of things pretty well but I figured if you were looking for the rules that I should point those out as well. If you have any specific questions don't be afraid to ask.

We have a very nice Rules section as well as a lot of helpful information, as Sunwolf said, that can be accessed via the animated navigation bar on the home page. That's the best place to go to find out all about the site. Afterward, if you'd like further assistance, we'll be most happy to lend a hand. Very Happy
