On our home page, scroll down to the In Character section. You'll see sections for Casual, Advanced, and Private Role-Playing. Most new members start in Casual and Private, but by all means go for Advanced if you feel up to it. You can either post an Interest Check in any of those sections if you have a particular idea in mind, or look at the Interest Checks people have already posted to see if anyone else has an idea that piques your interest. Some of the OOC threads may also indicate that they're recruiting, so feel free to PM the GM of a role-play if you're really interested in it.

Thank you very much. I don't typically do casual roleplaying. I like a little structure in my writing diet, so I think I'll try Advanced.

The only real difference between Casual and Advanced role-playing here is the length requirement of posts. Casual posts only need to be ten sentences and two paragraphs minimum, while Advanced posts need to be thirty sentences and five paragraphs minimum. I've been involved in a Casual role-play for over a year that could easily qualify as Advanced. I think you'll find a great amount of structure and quality in the writing here regardless of whether you do Casual or Advanced.

Also, I've noticed that more interest checks tend to pop up in Casual, but if you have an idea you want to start, by all means go for Advanced. Best of luck!

What are a few of your favorite things?

I've been roleplaying since late '01, early '02, so that's been the biggest hobby of mine in recent years. I'm a writer and a reader foremost, as it's what I enjoy most in the world.

I'm also an inveterate gamer, mostly RPGs, RTS, and from time to time the occassional button masher.

As far as any other habits, I'm sort of an internet addict, I avoid TV Tropes like the plague because I've been known to waste whole days clicking link after link. I like tinkering with computers and have become a fairly good technician, and I also like taking stock images off google and altering them in Photoshop to make my avatars.

And yes, I'm a Scorpio, and I have most of the strengths and weaknesses in full measure.

Whoa, I think we have pretty much every bit of that in common.
Except my start was a bit later, in '04.

TV Tropes is amazing! I think one time I was on there for eight hours straight. xD My favorite gaming franchises are Zelda, Fire Emblem and Smash Bros., so that pretty much covers RPG, Strategy and Action.

I know my way around a computer, and I probably get some things through osmosis by hanging around my tech friend, but I can't really call myself one. Still, I use what I know. ^_^ Image manipulation, though, I do all the time.

What's Serpent of Frost? It sounds like there's a story behind that.

Serpent of Frost is a direct correlation between my Chinese Zodiac sign and my preferred magical element, Ice. It's also a magical attack used by a couple of my characters, sort of a summoning technique, but also not.

Actually, now that I think about it, the actual story behind it comes in the form of a pair of my original characters, Glacies and Wrath, whose powers and various other techniques and physical traits granted them the nickname the Serpents of Frost and Flame.

Cool! I'm Year of the Dragon. What's awesome about that is I loved dragons even before I knew a Chinese Zodiac existed. xD

How do you pronounce Glacies? GLAY-seez? GLAY-shus?
