Inappropriate Conduct

Fellow FoGgers,

I regret to inform you that as many as sixteen of our members, including some of the staff, may have received a PM from a member who calls himself ULTIMATEMALE. The PM contained the exact same request with the same wording for a sexually explicit role-play. It also included a link to a pornographic GIF. If you received one of these PM’s, just ignore it. This user has been banned for inappropriate conduct on this site according to the rules.

We simply wanted to inform you all that FoG in no way supports this kind of behavior. Footsteps of Ghosts was created as a haven for quality role-playing. We are rated R. We are not NC-17 or X because we want people to be able to role-play well thought out stories and scenarios. We do not approve of role-plays that are based solely around sexual activities regardless of the degree of sexual exploits. While we are not against sexual acts within a role-play, we feel it must be done in such a way that enables it to further the overall story and character development, but extremely explicit detail of such acts is not approved.

We thank you for your understanding. The internet is filled with many immature people who are attention seeking and want to “shock” people. It’s best to simply ignore them. FoG is not the place for people like that, for we pride ourselves on being a group of mature people who seek the company of others to improve our writing and to have fun doing it!

The staff does try to keep a lid on things like this, but we aren’t a superior species. We’re all only human, so sometimes it takes us a bit to realize that something is amiss before we can do anything about it. If you or anyone else notices behavior like this, please, contact a staff member immediately, and we will take care of it.

Thank you for being such a great group, and we hope you weren’t inconvenienced by and won’t be inconvenienced in the future by people whose behavior is undesirable and/or offensive.

That's...just awful. I really have nothing to say. I'm glad I didn't receive such a PM and my heart goes out to anyone who did.

We've seen more inappropriate PMing recently. Without going into any extreme details, it was a PM asking someone if they would be interested in being involved in an incest RP.

We are trying to stay on top of all this recent behavior that has seemed to sprout up, so we just wanted to remind you that if you receive any PMs like this to please let a moderator know immediately.
