I'm heading out...

I know I've been talking about it since my introductory post...but here it is:
In about 2 days I am going to be at my Basic Combat Training Station for the Army National Guard. They kept moving the day up, so I wanted to post this up just to be sure the word gets out!

I know I haven't made a huge footprint in this community, but I do feel like I've already made some friends in the short time that I've been around, so I wanted to spill out the sappy goodbyes and everything so that everyone knows what's up.
I AM NOT LEAVING FOG!!! This is the most important thing I can say. As much as I'd like to say that I'm not going anywhere at all, I won't be able to do much interaction with everyone until after the training is over, which will be a little over 2 months from now. If I'm lucky, I will be able to get my hands on my laptop after basic training and re-join you all during my advanced job-specific training. If not, I may not be back until December!

Anyway, I'm going to miss being around here. I got attached to this community pretty quickly, and I decided to make a special forum signature for myself while I'm gone. It's got a double triple quadruple meaning... I'm gonna be over 1500 miles from home, my friends, and away from my favorite online community, and whatever I do, whatever I see, or do, will all be delayed because I won't be able to share it with you until I return...but I found a quote that I thought conveyed the way I feel about being away from everyone.

Ok, well I'm gonna quit repeating myself now. I wish everyone the best while I'm away!

I will miss you good sir. I'll try to hold down the fort as best I can without you. Zombies and mechs just won't kill themselves ya know.

Aww, DeadEye... I absolutely love the avatar and signature that you made. I think it says it perfectly. It has been really wonderful getting to know you here, and I'm so happy that you were able to make this place your home. You will be sorely missed, and I know we aren't the only ones rooting for you!

Alright everybody. This is it. I spent a lot of today saying my goodbyes to friends and family. Tomorrow morning I am gone until December, so everyone take care while I'm away!

If you want to get in touch while I'm there, I should get cell phone liberties on Sunday nights. If you send me any message, I will reply as soon as I can, just remember that my phone time is limited so I'll be talking to friends/family during my 'phone hour' as well as replying to texts. 1 Hour of Phone per week? damn. Our Basic training was for sissies.
(admittedly, it was mandatory, so they can't do it that hard.. we could even leave the barracks in the evening, but that was only an hour or two per day in basic training..)

Well, after almost 2 and a half months, I'm back! I'm on a *very slow* public terminal at Fort Sill's only Cyber Cafe and I've only got a few minutes left, but I just wanted to let everyone know I made it through Basic Training and I'm still in one piece! I'll be heading out to El Paso, Texas tonight on my way to Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, which will be another 10 weeks. Fortunately, the AIT there is pretty nice and I should be able to get regular computer access from my own laptop as soon as I can get my family to mail it to me.
