Well, after Ipo, my grandma decided that she didn't want another pet in the house. After a kitten knocked his best friend's laptop from a desk and broke it, Misery also decided that he wants a pet-free zone. Unless I'm able to convince him after we live together for a few years or something, I'm going to be without a pet for a very long time.

Wait... You pet was murdered? WTF happened? ^;_;^

We have a neighbor who came over repeatedly complaining to us about our cat, in spanish, translated through her quite embarrassed preadolescent daughter. A couple weeks after Taeo was born, he disappeared...He had a GPS tag in his body, so if he was picked up by pound or SPCA he would have been scanned. I have no doubts that this woman murdered him, for she absolutely hates all animals, and he was very trusting and could easily have been caught or poisoned.

Aww. That's really sad...

I'm glad you were able to get a new pet, though. Sadie seems like a sweetheart, even if I can't really see her against the darker background. XD

I try to feel sorry for her, since she obviously has a large hole in her heart. But sometimes it doesn't work...

Sadie will never get into her back yard, so I'm happy to have a puppy, though I am annoyed that I can't have a cat in my own home because of a neighbor, and not a landlord. -_-

I honestly think that if people are going to be rude and nasty, none should have to take their disabilities into account. There are enough crippled people or people with disabilities or disorders that are nice and pleasant that there's no excuse for those who are jerks. Seriously.

Ugh... Stupid neighbors... They ruin everything.

Oh no, I meant the neighbor, and I meant more of a...moral hole...not physical. I guess it was a metaphor.

Well, then she deserves even less sympathy. My sympathy goes toward her daughter.

I agree with Kathryn. No sympathy for jerks. Especially jerks who most likely murders small mammals.

@Fate/anyone else who has rats: I'M SO JEALOUS. I love rats and mice! I really want one or two, but as I am in high school and therefore living with parental units, their rules go, and their rules say "no caged animals" (though that's been broken once or twice). I keep telling them that every animal is caged: indoor cats to houses, dogs to fences, and humans to the earth. Oh well.

My family is totally animal-friendly, and we have a hard time turning animals in need away... especially when my sister comes home from college with an adorable kitten. Y'all get picks of them later today, but for now we'll settle for a list of pets that are living with me now (in the order of when we got them):

Bella - 12 year old vizsla (breeder) (named after some famous musician)
Dusty - 8 or 9 year old kitty (humane society)
Ruffer - 8 or 9 year old mutt (rescued) (named because all he does is bark)
Smore - 3-4 year old kitty (humane society) (already had a name when we adopted him)
Milkshake - 2 year old kitty (rescued) (named after the cat in the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy)

We've had many other animals besides this, including a gecko, a bird, fish, and more cats and dogs, but the list would be too long.

Sadly, I only have one pet that has a picture. My dog gave birth a few months ago and we took pictures of the liter. I need to upload them to my computer some time. They're very adorable <3

Sheeple, I'm excited to see the pictures of your pets. I love animals, and I wish I still had a pet. I miss my kitty, and if I can ever get the pictures off the memory in the camera itself ((not the card)), I'll probably post those old pictures... Alas, I don't have a USB cord for the camera, so those will have to wait.

Saori, your dog is really cute! What's her breed?

A long haired dachshund. He can be pretty rowdy though.

In our family each animal has a special sort of connection with one of us. It's not like it's magical or anything, just sort of curious. For me it's Dusty, the grey cat. For my mom it's Smore, the black cat. For my little brother it's Milkshake, the orange cat. And my sister and father "share" the dogs.

Oh I'd forgotten all about this thread! Now that I actually have a pet, I can post pictures of him. XD

Sheeple, your pets are really cute. I'm especially fond of Smore. He's beautiful and a bit regal. Does he have thumbs? My friend's cat looks very similar, and he has thumbs. Apparently it's common among cats that are called Hemingways...

Sighlent, Gandalf is really cute, too. I miss having a kitty...

Sighlent: Gandalf is so freaking adorable!!!! I about squealed at the absurd amount of cuteness when I clicked on the spoiler tag and saw him.

I love that I can actually see her! She's really cute, and she seems to have a good personality.

She really is the sweetest dog A bit too hyper for my liking, but she's a puppy. With training and time I know she will calm down.

It's amazing how lucky we got with her!

Ummm...I think I'm the first to have this animal, we have another 2 - A brown one and a black one, but they don't like taking photos. Recently they've been laying green eggs :S I have alien Chickens >_>

Gary (nice reference btw) looks rather upset to have his picture taken. Almost seems like he is shaking his fist at you because of it.

As for the eggs, I'm not sure about any side effects, no-one has tried them yet. Perhaps I should try them with green Ham, like Dr Seuss suggests.

Is it just the shell that's green, or is the inside affected as well?

I wish I had a chicken. She's so pretty.

@Kathryn - I'm not sure, no-one has plucked up the courage to crack one open yet. It sparked my interest and I checked it out online, and apparently green eggs are fine, there have even been incidences of Chickens laying purple eggs >_>

Also....Gary isn't my cat XD He is my neighbours. I guess he he just likes it here better

Aww! Melancholy, they're adorable!

Just finished brushing Takun (who is in the process of blowing his winter coat.) Took me a little over an hour and managed to fill an entire WalMart bag with his undercoat and was easily enough fur to make another dog, if not a small winter jacket.

Loki - you should find a local Fiber Guild I'd be willing to bet they'd love all that hair to actually spin, dye and knit with. I have done with my Corgi and some pet groomers donate the hair from Persian cats
