Charlie, what was it like when you were alive?

The skies darken, and there is an evident air of a presence that surrounds you. The birds and bugs cease to make a sound, and the very air itself becomes icy cold. The wind dies down, and everything is still..for a few moments. Then, there is a voice.


'Twas bloody living hell, wasn't it? Had meself some right stuffy parents, I did. Tried tah make me into a pahnsy, they did. Glad they didn't succeed though. Gits. School was shite. Them kids were all nutters. Did do my fair share of snogging though, must admit. Still, me life improved after I got offered a job as an engineer. Best days of my life, they were. Helped to create the greatest machine this world has ever seen. Then those arse gods had to come down and ruin it all. I haunt because of them, you know. They made me into this, they did, the whole bloody lot of them! Ruined my life. I was going to be the greatest boffin too. It's all bollocks.

I hear that my engineering brother. It's always great times until "the gods" bring down the law, be they in the form of professors, employers, law enforcement, government officialsc, or actual gods; they cannot let an occupied engineer be. So what if I made a potato gun that can easily clear 5 blocks when fired from the rooftop of my apartment complex? So what if I made a rifle out of PVC piping, steel ball bearings, and rare earth magnets? It's not like anybody was hurt (as far as I know, that potato gun had some impressive range.) Either way, engineers at play are never left to their devices.

They're just jealous that they can't party like us.
