Haunted House Fun
Today, my dad and I surveyed an abandoned house on our way home from a hiking trip in the rose valley area. It was a gorgeous house, in its prime at least...the roof was caved in and there was some old furniture inside. Very creepy, very cool.
Here is the original shot.

Here are some photoshop edits I made...the Left 4 dead poster was my brother's idea. Keep in mind I have no real training with camera/photoshop...this is all just me goofing around.
Enjoy.

Those pictures are awesome, Ryona - do you have anymore pictures of the old furniture in there, by any chance?

There was one room (that I could gain access too) that had some older furniture. There was a mix of old and new things; I'm pretty sure some people took up temporary shelter there.
Not sure how old these pieces are, I couldn't get too close to it:

Oooooooo... creepy broken mirror back there, and hall tree too... hmm... I'll bet it would be seriously strange looking in, say, the gloom of dusk.

Wow Ryona, I'm gonna have to agree with you, those last two shots look Fallout 3ish o_O very cool, in my opinion.

Re: Haunted House Fun
@Igraine: It was creepy. Though the scariest part was wondering if the roof was going to collapse on me as I tried to squeeze through a door that was holding part of it up...
@Kalon: I sort of did it on purpose, as in, I knew what controls I wanted to use to alter the picture. I did not expect the such bright colors as result, but I liked it a lot
@Ragter: Thanks a bunch
I didn't edit the last one, but I might try to get it to match the fallout 3 color scheme a bit more

You're welcome, and despite the fact it doesn't look like Fallout's color scheme..hm, it still looks like Fallout 3, simply because it's wrecked/looks extremely old and dirty.

Re: Haunted House Fun
That's precious! I've once or twice seen a "haunted house" myself, complete with creaking, rotting wooden boards. That L4D picture is very intriguing and captivating. Shows just how much the eeriness factor can increase with a little nighttime tweaking.
I vote the second picture gets added to some sort of FOG gallery. It fits the theme of the site really well. Maybe it could be a banner for Charlie's thread?

Re: Haunted House Fun
Thanks a bunch! My brother wants us all to dress up with some melee weapons and head out to take our own picture...lol!
The place really was beautiful, but my mind tends to wander and I couldn't help but imagine what happened to all the people that lived there...the original makers...the modern renovators...the people that were there when the roof finally fell...the squatters that used it as a temporary shelter...
I had made that second picture with fog in mind, but I didn't think about it actually being used. That would be so cool if it was!

Re: Haunted House Fun
So instead of making a new thread I figured I'd just throw some stuff in here. I like to play around with pictures, as well as make siggy/avi sets, so yea...here is some stuff...

Stupid Everclear song was stuck in my head...so instead of making a karaoke webcammy film thingy, I made this ^_^
Avi/Siggy Sets (just in case you didn't know I made them...):

Maps (Still new at these):

Erm yep. That is all.

Re: Haunted House Fun
In case anyone was wondering if those maps were of anything specific....
Ryona was kind enough to improve the map for Eternity's and my 1-on-1, Aura: Daughter of Light. That's the setting for the RP.
And an awesome job she did, too!
From a sad scribbling of mine into a superb work of art!
Just wanted to say thank-you again, Ryona.

Self Portrait
I had to make a self portrait for my art 412 course. So, here it is, featuring me, Silvone, Taeo and our doggy Sadie.
Edit: Comments welcome!

I know I've already told you that I loved this but I thought I would say it again. I really did get a feel for what your life is like on a daily basis and I love how you incorporated FOG into that. Plus Taeo is getting soooo big! He's so precious! Also, the look that Silvone gives you at 2:22 made me die laughing. XD

Haha, thanks Sighlent! It took me a few days to make it, and there is so much more that I could have put in it but I was trying to keep it simple.

Re: Haunted House Fun
We're going back to this house on Monday. I'm so excited.
Anyway, I'm trying to sketch again. Here is one that I took and manipulated in photoshop. It was a pretty lousy sketch, but I'm a pretty lousy artist, so its all good. I'm hoping to get better at it.
It's a scene from the Fermata thread in Emoria.

Re: Haunted House Fun
We went back to the house:
Here is the front of the house:

We actually climbed a tree to get to the second story. Or rather, Silvone did. 5 bedrooms up there! We imagine there was probably an outdoor staircase to get up to that second door, for there is no door inside. All of this was an addition to the original house, you can tell by the way it was built. It is still old though, just not as old as the other half of the house.

This is the end of the older part of the house, but I mostly like the lighting of this picture, purely accidental (though I wish I could say I did it all on purpose)

We climbed a hill behind the house, and look at this view! Who wouldn't love to live here. I can only imagine the bustle of activity this house must have seen in its prime, so long ago.

Another shot, you can see the snow on the house. It was very cold, though you wouldn't know it with all that sun without seeing that snow there.

Re: Haunted House Fun
That does look nice.
Someone should build a house close by and use the haunted one as a clubhouse, or something. xD

Re: Haunted House Fun
Thanks Kalon. I would love to build a home out there...even one just like that house (but not falling to pieces!).
Today I went to the Wind Wolves Preserve and took pictures of my good friend, Brandy. Here are a few of the best shots:

Re: Haunted House Fun
Holy crap, Ryona! You have really benefited from having a photographer for a father. I'm sure it helps to have such a lovely subject and wonderful scenery, though! hahah In some of the shots, that girl looks like she could be related to you.
My favorites are:
#3 where she's crouching in front of the tree
#7 where she's reaching up to touch a tree limb
#9 where she's leaning against the wall with her hands in her pockets
I like them all, but those three are my personal favorites. ^^_^^

Re: Haunted House Fun
Thanks so much, Kathryn. My dad has helped me a lot. We are kind of like a team. He knows more of the technical aspects of photography, which he is teaching me, while I have a somewhat natural artistic eye (which is useless if I can't use the camera to appropriately capture it!)It's funny you say that about Brandy, because in high school people would always mix us up. We always thought it was strange, especially because I dressed completely different than her and even had different hairstyles and stuff. Yet, we would find ourselves saying the same thing at the same time, or wearing the same colors on the same day, little things like that. We are personality twins

Your favorites are also my favorites, #9 being my most favorite. Us brown eyed folk have to really appreciate when the color of our eyes comes through onto the camera! #7 we've begun calling the Eve shot, lol. Something about it is just Eve-esque (except with clothing!)

Gah! For like... ten seconds, I wondered why you hadn't posted that first shot in the "Post Yo' Picture" thread. Then I realized the girl on the left isn't actually you. ^o_o^ Is this the same girl from your other shoot because I can definitely see how you two were mixed up in high school.
I like all of these pictures. The one of just the women's legs is really cool. It has a very retro feel to it. The first shot is just fabulous. Both women look gorgeous in it, and the quality is awesome.

It is her. I still don't see it, but I suppose if I didn't see my own face everyday I might understand.Thank you, Kathryn. There is a lot more pictures but I didn't want to bog this thread down anymore than I already have. My friends are so beautiful (and I think I help them see it, with this photoshoots, which is a victory in itself). Retro was definitely what I was going for. That ice cream shop they are in was built in the 30's, and the rest were taken in an antique shop or at Mill Creek (which is just a revamp of the old Central park). Plus, we had tons of fun!
